B10N? You should be blaming Comcast. It's always their fault. Everything was fine with Comcast until the BTN came along. I always used to get games free on ESPN plus. No BTN=good for everyone. No matter how good a game it was, if it wasn't on the big channels, it would be on ESPN plus. Sure, Comcast has some part of this. But I wasn't complaining when I still got to watch my teams games for free already. So really, the BTN has no argument about offering games for free, BECAUSE THEY WERE ALREADY THERE!!!!

Wait, you don't see this as the perfect opportunity to use this as an excuse to get rid of Comcast for DirecTV or some other cable provider? My parents are ready to burn every Comcast device in the country, and if it wasn't for me begging them to keep it for just another year so I can still have the local sports network, they would have hopped on DirecTV and given me any sports network I would have wanted. If Comcast sees that they're losing customers in noticeable amounts because of this, they'll get on it. But if everyone with Comcast just decides to cry and do nothing about it, they just don't have to pay extra money for a service it seems nobody is too interested in...

I shouldn't have to switch. I was already getting games for free!! If I had to switch to the dish I would, but not exactly my decision in the household.

Hey, I used to get softcore porn for free until my Showtime subscription expired. You know what I would have done? I would have bit the bullet but the internet is a wondrous place where porn is free for all who desire. What I am trying to say, go with Directv. Petition you're parents. Learn from the kids on Maury, they acted like brats to get what they wanted. Is it the nicest thing? No, but this is football.

Yesterday AT&T came knocking on the door and will be re-wiring the house and installing cable boxes Saturday. I am excited for more channels, the BTN is not one of them, but competition will force one of the companies to add it. Hopefully AT&T seeing as Comcast is I believe "Hitler, the devil, and Matt Millen"... which is easier put as pure evil. I hate Comcast with a burnin passion and hopethis competition does force them to make changes.

And then there was the radio, and God saw that it was good! Honestly, you get what you need to know on the radio. Sure it's not as good as watching, but you just have to make do.

Yup so pretty much all the games I watched on TV last year, which was more than half, almost all in football, most in basketball on ESPN+, I now have to listen to on the radio.
That shouldn't be an option more than 50% of the time. That's basically all bball games since not a lot of OOC games are shown for MSU or hardly any schools, and a lot of B10 conference games were on ESPN+ as well.
This should not be acceptable. What about the fans who can't afford a sports package, or who can't afford Direct TV?
This is ridiculous and I'm not happy at all.

DirecTV isn't specifically any more expensive than a cable company... I paid time warner the same last year that I'm paying DirecTV this year for even more channels, plus HD, etc...

This should not be acceptable. What about the fans who can't afford a sports package, or who can't afford Direct TV? If they can't afford DirecTV, then they probably weren't able to afford the deal with Comcast for the "free games" in the first place. Unless for some reason you're a satisfied Comcast customer, research the cost of DirecTV and what you're paying now for Comcast. Show your parents that even if it may cost just a little extra, it will make you happy and you'll also have the benefit of not having to deal with Comcast. Honestly, you can continue to cry and bitch about it, but at least try to do something about it rather than just post about how much you hate B10N

Bitch to parents, not to us. If I could, I would make sure everyone on here had Directv. It is that much better.

I can afford it. I'm just saying, DeLaney and his crew didn't think about the lower class people who watch B10 football. They were getting games for free on basic cable, not necessarily Comcast. Why make them switch to something like DirectTV just so they can see their favorite team play their games?
Yes, I know switching to DirectTV can solve everything for me and I get that. But the plan wasn't very well thought out by the conference. They should have waited until they had every single deal done before launching, or at least until 2008.
They should have made sure it was a damn good idea befoe they even started it. Everyone was getting free games already, from Comcast to Direct TV, everyone was getting free games. The BTN has no argument about Comcast or any other company forcing people to pay when they didn't charge people in the first place.

They should have waited until they had every single deal done before launching, or at least until 2008. Why wait for every single deal when they can profit off of it now, especially when they can't be sure that Comcast and other cable companies will ever decide to pick it up? Again, having people like yourself who will complain about this, but not switch from Comcast, won't make any difference to Comcast, who will still be getting your money. You can't blame the Big Ten for Comcast not willing to immediately jump on board on this one.

It's not just Comcast's fault. Yes, they do have a part, but the BTN is also at fault.
Why should Comcast allow it? They were already giving fans their games for free and the BTN would just cost Comcast more to carry it with the BTN's "big ten tax". That's why Comcast wants to only allow it to people who really want it. Why can't the BTN accept that?
The part of it not being thought out was, when people are getting games for free already, why not figure out all your negotiations, then once you have them done, launch the network and no one misses out.
Only allowing 18 million or so people to the BTN is ridiculous. Hell, not even all 18 million are B10 fans. It doesn't make your conference look very good at all, looks like you don't care about everyone.
I'm sorry. I think the B10 really screwed up on this one. That's not saying that Comcast has no blame at all.

I'm not going to get deep into this because a) I don't have the time to argue it out and b) you're in the mindset that you're right, everyone else is wrong, and you would argue it until I quit....
The moral of my point is that a lot of your arguments show your age and inexperience in related things. Now before you erupt, I'm not calling you immature, I'm not saying you're stupid, etc... I'm simply saying you are unable to see the big picture which weaken if not invalidate many of your points because of age - not because of intelligence, savvy-ness, etc. Don't be surprised if/when turnin or someone else has the same argument next year if the B12 does the same or whoever else throughout the country.
This same thing will happen as the rest of the conferences follow. Just as what happened last year with the NFL network happened with the NBA network. Many of y'all are too young to remember when every game, NBA, MLB, whatever, wasn't on your local tv. I remember 20-25 Spurs games being on tv each year with everything else as pay-per-view.
Anyway - the ranting can continue and go on and on, and it sucks, but as someone else touched on, that is life, and that is business - and business doesn't matter to you until it effects you in the end. Just give it a year and all of the new college freshmen here will start complaining about the business aspects of college.

It appears that Comcrap has given up on the BTN. Here is an email I got from them. I also called them earlier today saying carry the network, they said no, and I said F*** you.
