Does everyone seriously not know the reason for this? I read through expecting DB or someone to correct/answer this. Of all of the major state uni's (not U of ___, but ___ State U), Ohio State's is one of the very very few that is actually THE ohio state university. How many schools have "the" that predominant in the official logo. Therefore, when the whole reading off of the schools thing started becoming popular, the OSU kids would proudly state THE ohio state university... If you ever hear it for other schools or from other athletes, it's simply mocking the OSU grads.

As others mentioned, I've never heard of THE Miami U or any of the others.... especially because that is not any of their legal names.

I know what you mean cooljay. It can get pretty annoying, but if that is the whole name - I get it. And you hear Miami referred to as Da U more than anything else...

They say it cocky, that is why it is annoying. As if to say their school is better than the rest when Ohio State clearly is not.

Another one hit me today. When a girl will root for a guy's favorite sports team. Not because she likes the team, but just to please the guy. At least be honest and say you don't like it. I noticed it today at work and just wanted to scream and punch things.

I dont like when people will say four in one sentence in a paper and then 4 in the next sentence. That type of shit is what always made me stop my chises. I'd look over my work way to much to check for wierd things like that.

I can't stand it when people chew gum with their mouth open. Not like just chewing, but when they make that chomping sound with their mouth open.. disgusts the crap out of me.

Unfortunately for me though, most people at my school have a pet peeve with pencil tapping and such.. which happens to be a bad habit of mine.

I spin things a lot. If I have any sort of rope kind of material (lanyard, necklace, ect.) I'll start swinging it. Gets people I work with pissed.

My biggest pet peeve is probably other peoples spelling or inability to add. I get mad in school when I'm with dumb partners
