See I would love to smoke some weed occasionally. I have done it once in high school and it was cool, very relaxing. But with me playing football now the league I'm in does random drug testing in-season and off-season. I was tested 3 times last season alone. A weed violation gets you an automatic 2 year ban, the same length of time as steriods, cocaine, and meth.

I have discussed weed with my mom and she was totally cool about it. She said she doesn't consider pot to be any worse than alchohol leading me to believe she was a hippy back in the 70s.

I would never do pot. I hate smoking. I just won't do it. Somethin about it just doesn't attract me at all.

I drink about 3 times a month. I try and keep it under control when I do.

When I was younger I accidentally drank some whiskey. I have yet to drink it again. When you are thinking you are going for water, then get that, it is shocking.

see for like a 4 week period I smoked every weekend and then I stopped for like 2 months, I just bought some yesterday so i plan on having that periodically for while.

as far as my parents knowing shit, my dad kept trying to get me to drink from the time I was 18 but I won't still, and hes left off since I turned 21.. smoking however my dad was cool with it... he even lent me his pipe. But my mom found out and has yet to talk to me about it but im sure if I'm smart about it she doesn't care. They even gave me a book they found when they cleaned out our attic called "Child's Garden of Grass" which is a 70's book about know-it-all do-it all about weed, such as how to roll a proper joint, make water bongs and pipes. Also how to hide hit properly and the laws (back in the 70's) were about buying it, selling it, and possession in all of the states. Its actually pretty sweet gift....

I don't understand the logic, "my parents did it, I can too". My dad and his friends got involved in a lot of poor stuff, and my dad realized that it was dumb, and stopped. Some of his friends didn't, and are an absolute mess.

I'm not saying that im saying that if my parents did it and I end up doing it he can't be mad at me for it. They let me make my own decisions and end them when I want. If I am smart with it then why can't I do it.

I guess it really just comes down to a fundamental difference between you and I, as I don't believe there is such a thing as being "smart" with substances.

EDIT: Want to clarify, I'm not entirely opposed to alcohol, it's probably most healthy to drink a glass of wine every night, I'm just opposed in most situations.

I would disagree. A few drinks can bring a shy person out of their shell a bit and help them be more "social."

Also I believe that people are attracted to drugs because there is some inate desire to be "high." Mainly because it feels good. That's the reason I'll toke up with some friends, because we enjoy doing it and it creates a bond for some reason.

I'm not going to do it when I have to get out in the real world and work (planning to be a doctor, not sure anyone wants a high doctor) but I'm young and you're only young once. Mind as well have fun in safe limits (no driving and what not) and don't do it so often that it could become a problem.
