I would... mainly because I wouldn't want to face the jail time lol.
No, I probably would just because I respect the men and women fighting right now for us. I feel it would be a slap in the face to them if I were to refuse.

Look understand you guys have good intentions and that you truly love your country but honestly I doubt if 5% of would actually freely commit you life to the military. Being drafted would be a different story but if was the choice between living your regular life or dying in a foreign country you would stay home.

Eh, I'm about 80% sure I would actually go. It's one of those self-respect things. If my nation called on me and I would turn away I wouldn't respect myself... so I honestly think I would go.

I would go without a doubt.
I wouldn't be able to look myself in the eye if I ran away while others fought and died the same fight.
*This is only if we are talking about getting drafted, if it's about enlisting then there is no chance of me serving*

If I get drafted, I will go. Anything short of that, not a chance in hell.

I would probably go if drafted, not worth the negative reputation that comes with refusing, especially if I end up getting into politics like I'd ideally wish to.

I would go. Yes, I know there is a chance I might die but, at least I would die for 6 billion people trying to protect there freedom.
See what I don't get now is why people want to back out of the places were in now. The troops signed up to go into the army, did they not know there is a chance they might go overseas? It's mostly people that have loved ones overseas that say we should back out. Did they know what there son or daughter was getting into in the first place? Also, we've been in these places for years now, we can't back out now, that would be a slap in the face to our country. I have a cousin in Iraq as well as a friend. It's just a part of life.

You don't have to like what George W. Bush has done, but seriously, step into his shoes for one day.
That is a hard ass job. Am I saying he is the greatest president? No. Not one of the greats. But people complain about his freakin smile and the way he laughs. That's very sad when a majority of people think of our president is a guy that just laughs funny.
Should we be in Iraq? Maybe, maybe not. I don't have inside information. But the man's first intention is protecting his country. He was faced with a huge problem in 9/11. Back then, every single person in this country who gave a rats ass wanted to go to war and get the bastards who did it. Now, just because we haven't achieved a victory, everyone is complaining. The death toll is nowhere near either of the world wars or the civil war. What would people have said had he not went to war?
Just because George Bush may or may have not made a mistake going to war, why should we not support it? The man's intention was to make sure the bastards didn't do it again. Whether you think so or not, EVERYONE was happy when we finally went over there and set off some bombs.
I don't follow taxes or anything like that, and maybe that is why some of you think he is a bad president. But the war thing shouldn't even be an issue at all. The man did what he thought was best for this country, and I'm sure many of us, if put in the position, would have done the same thing. He wanted to protect this country. Why do people hate him for that.
Clayton was dead on with the people who complain about the war with family. It was their choice to go to war. You do not join the Army to sit around.
Also, just because Iran doesn't have that technology now and whatnot, if they go crazy and nuke us before we have time to react, we will all be screwed.
They hate us over there. Absolutely hate us.
That's just my view about GWB. I don't have to support everything he does, but someone else step into that job for a day. I am glad we have a guy that isn't afraid to protect us.
Not to mention, there is a lot of progress being made that we don't hear about. All we hear about is deaths. I have cousins, brothers, and uncles in the Army. They tell me there are so many improvements over there that we do not even see because of the media.

I think George W. Bush is just that, a man who laughs funny. To me he just comes off as this huge pawn for others.
Simply because the death toll isn't near other wars does that mean we should still sacrifice the lives of Americans?
Also, the Army sort of eats at me. Well, their recruiting methods. They come to high schools and offer money for college after you risk your life in war. It was disturbing to see friends jump at the thought of that money right away.
You know what though, I don't blame some people for hating us. We live a lavish lifestyle and try to police the world. I was listening to Adam Corolla and he made a great point. He said he was at a friends house riding around on a motorized cooler with a beer in one hand and food in the other, preparing to watch football on 18 televisions when it dawned on him. That is why terrorists hate us. (That is just an interesting tidbit that really doesn't apply to anything, I just wanted to say it.)
When I think about Iran though, I come to on idea over and over. Wouldn't you threaten violence against someone simply because they don't like the idea that you have weapons to protect your country? Could it be that Iran is worried of some sort of attack on their land and what to be ready to seek vengeance?

Well, when people complain about the death toll all the time, it kind of bothers me. It also bothers me when some people don't appreciate what the troops are doing. You can say you support the troops, but some of you don't just because you don't like GWB.

For all you know Spartan and what many believe, George W. Bush had something to do with 9/11....take into account the many piece of odd evidence and then think about why so many people hate Bush. Look at this random war in Iraq and his interesting friendship with the Bin Laden family itself.
Just about everything Bush has done has ruined this country in one way or another from 9/11 to the Patriot Act to the War in Iraq. He's not one of the greats, you're right; he's quite possibly the worst.
EDIT: And I think people should realize, we have more reasons to fear our "allies", China and Russia, than these tiny Arab nations who can't even develop a way to get fresh water to their towns.

I think it is too early too tell where George W. Bush stands amongst Presidential ratings. However, I can't imagine him being too far from the bottom.
