I played a demo of this I believe for the '04 election and enjoyed it, even though the demo didn't let you finish the election... if I get around to it, maybe I'll look for a torrent...

I suddenly can't win as Obama anymore. Help? I can't either, my momentum gets too strong, I have to purposely shoot myself in the foot, and then I can't recover. I just always run ads in Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, and SC, always positive, and see what I can do. I just used real-world campaign strategy, and stayed in the states until their primary. Also, I really abuse foot soldiers, I put a TON of them out there (I figure it's realistic since that's pretty much the Obama campaign strategy). I just tried a new one - started the game as Clinton, but controlled every Dem candidate. Then on the first term, has them ALL endorse Barack Obama. He never got close enough to strike, and I got him to agree to being VP. Meanwhile, Romney has been the Republican nominee for a while, but hasn't gotten around to picking a VP. Hoping I can pull this one out, I'm playing on medium. I've had to ban myself from using foot soldiers, they just make it incredibly too easy, even on hard. I've had some good times doing cross-party nominations - once I had every democrat except Chris Dodd drop out and endorse the same republican (Romney probably, since he's the front-runner from the start) and absolutely kill their chances in the general election. It's kinda fun. I've even had a GOP/dem ticket in the general before which would have steamrolled everyone had the game not kicked me out....apparently it can't handle unity tickets.

I'm surprised no one's found a way to just shut off momentum limits, so that the game doesn't end up becoming a bitch about it. It makes it even harder to dominate an election, because if you're TOO good, then you lose.

Momentum seems incredibly erratic - if you keep the margin within like 15 points and have serious momentum in a state, you WILL win the primary.

Also, is it just me, or are the computer's ridiculously lucky when it comes to gathering scandals? I can get continuously hit, 2 times a week, for several months, and have no idea how it's happening.

Yeah, I think it's fair, I just wish momentum wasn't so dramatically impacted by little things. Like, in New Hampshire, we kind of saw the signs that she was gaining steam, and while the polls weren't showing it, we knew what was coming. Same thing with SC, Obama was only 10% ahead, but our indicators said that we were looking at possibly 20+%

So, I feel responsible for the massive Barack Obama ads at the top of the forum.

Haha, ProBoards has started their own Obama campaign (which is awesome), the ads showed up on my Vermonters for Obama board today.
