hey guys i doubt you guys have heard the news, but a girl at Auburn University was shot and killed last night, her car was lit on fire about a half hour after they found her the reason i'm posting this is because i am currently a student at Auburn, and while i didn't know the girl personally, she was in my freshman orientation group, which still is an odd connection basically i'm saying you guys need to be safe out there, and you just never know when your time's up, so for those of you currently at college, make sure you are aware of everything goin on around you when you're out at night www.11alive.com/news/article_news.aspx?storyid=112399 |

I think I heard something similar that happened at Georgia? The world is a scary place and these stories hit close to home living on a college campus.

yeah, a very similar incident happened today at UNC, girl was killed, her car was found about a mile away from the accident, happened in the middle of the night, found in teh middle of the road
plus, the rumor is that the girl killed here at Auburn was found either half naked or fully naked, which leaves people to believe it was a sexual assault homicide, then again it's just a rumor
but either way this world is sick

one last thing i wanted to post
i couldn't find the thread with the Westboro Baptist Church, but anyway they're coming down here to protest the memorial service we're having
they said that "God hates Auburn and Lauren Burk" and that because Burk was Jewish, they say "That Jesus-hating woman gets what she deserves"
i can't stand these people, they just sicken me, what's up with this world?

yeah, the mood on campus has been a little weird, it's like people are moving on but very cautiously, the security is beefed up like crazy and for good reason
we had the memorial service for her today, i never saw WBC
the service itself was very good, i got extremely choked up and came close to losing my composure when the leader of the Auburn chapter of Lauren's sorority gave a speech, she couldn't even read it, she continuously broke down into tears
it was a very tough day for most of us here
