Since the other one never got finished, and I like music, we'll try this again. Title changed so you can nominate singular artists and not just bands. Nominate artists you think are the best. All nominations must be seconded by someone else. If there's one I really hate, I may veto it (ex: if Britney Spears somehow gets nominated and seconded, she is NOT going in the tournament.) And for bama's sake (well, he hates me already so it doesn't matter, but anyway) we'll narrow the field to 32 artists. If we have overflow of nominees, I'll deal with that. Preferably, nominees should be evaluated based upon the artist's popularity and overall impact on music.I'll start with the basic nominees: The Beatles The Who The Rolling Stones The Velvet Underground The Doors Bob Dylan Queen Jimi Hendrix Pink Floyd Bruce Springsteen Led Zeppelin Feel free to second any of these. ....And now that I've potentially taken care of a third of the bracket, yall have fun and get nominating

Radiohead (90's/00's Alternative/Experimental Rock) Nick Drake (70's Folk) Neutral Milk Hotel (90's Folk Rock) Joy Division (70's Post-Punk) Crass (70's/80's Punk) Godspeed You! Black Emperor (90's/00's Post-Rock) Sam Cooke (50's/60's Soul) John Coltrane (60's jazz)
That should pretty much take care of the genres you didn't cover
I'd second all your nominations except the Rolling Stones
If any rapper is nominated it should be Nas.

If any rapper is nominated it should be Nas. Are u human? Im pretty sure 2pac is before Nas. and if not he is tied with nas on anyone's list. Pac was one of the most influential/real lyrical/ and controverisial rappers ever. No one has ever been like Tupac Shakur.

This is a pretty sweet list we've got going so far, trying to think of genre's we've left out.
Dead Kennedys? BEACH BOYS
There's two more good ones.

the kinks will not be seconded by me but...
I nominate:
Foo Fighters (IMO the G.O.A.T) Rage Against the Machine (crazy original and really good) Jeff Healey (seriously listen some of his stuff the guy is sick) The Eagles (very good, very talented) The Ramones (started the 70s punk rock movement) Chris Cornell (2 of the biggest bands in rock: Audioslave and Sound Garned plus an accomplished solo artist) Guns N' Roses (not my fav but they are very popular) Cream (the first true "power band") Aerosmith (Steven Tyler PJs!)
thats all I can think of right now.
