Wow. As bad as it was, things could've gotten to epicly bad proportions had he managed to hit oncoming cars.

according to the family of the driver he had diabetes and could have gone into a diabetic episode due to low blood sugar level. Not sure if thats what happened but I do know that a diabetic with low blood sugar will do crazy shit. They don't have any idea whats going, they become very confused and disoriented. It's possible he thought all the other cars were going the wrong way
