The National. I've not heard anything about the band but downloaded that CD Keepsie mentioned. Really impressed so far... Such a great band, listening to Boxer out in my lawn at 2:00 AM is one of my best memories of last summer. Brilliantly melancholy, uniquely American, and the musicianship, specifically the drumming, is just incredible. I enjoy a great moment with that CD about 7:30 this morning after a got in from having one of those deep long talks with this chick. Anyway, turned Itunes on and let that CD play as I meditated. The lyrics are phenominal. I just catch something new each time I've listened to it.

If you like Boxer, definitely check out their 2005 release Alligator. Boxer is a classic, but Alligator is incredibly good as well, and the closing song on that album is easily one of my favorite all time songs.
