****************************** July 4th, 2006 ******************************Happy Fourth of July everyone! Just got done shooting off some fireworks with the family and swimming a bit, thought I'd get this in here. Drew and I finally got a contract finalized with the Falcons and I'm officially a member of their squad. Two years, $500,000 with a $100,000 signing bonus....not exactly rich but I'm doing better than I was right? Haha. Ashley and I flew the other day to Atlanta around Fulton County and stuff, specifically in Academy Park. It's a whole lot different than out there. Here's the house Ashley and I liked the most, it's not NFL big but we love it.... There's a pool backyard too; inground thankfully. Perfect little family home/neighborhood. Traded my old Cavalier in too and bought a new car, check it-check it-check it out! Got training camp in a couple weeks, hoping to get that back-up spot but I know Schaub's been holding it down and is really hoping to get outta ATL so I don't know. I'll get my shot soon enough....I know I will.

****************************** July 28th, 2006 ******************************Man I'm sore. Training Camp can be reckless let me tell you! Rookies checked in on the 25th and started workouts yesterday while Vets checked in yesterday. Good thing too because one of the vets came in with his new wife and all the guys were harassing him, haha, it was classic. I think some of the big boys enjoyed the sight of her a little too much if you know what I mean, . Ashley and I are still in the process of working on getting a good bid on that house I posted a couple weeks ago, been praying everyday to get it, we really need a home. Till then she's back in California with her family; if that can't drive a sane man crazy I don't know what can. To think we're getting married in just over a month.... Coach told me I was idiot for that too and threatened that I better have football on my mind the next day. First game of the season is the very next day after our wedding. Talk about a honeymoon! Coach Mora's been doing a lot of conditioning these first couple days. He wants us to be in football shape. I could've sworn I was but I guess I wrong because man am I beat! Ran a lot of drills too, the coaches seemed pretty pleased with my mechanics but I made a couple stupid throws that either flew over my receivers' heads over didn't even reach their feet. I'll fix that, I'm still a little rusty ya know? When I met Michael Vick I was a little nervous. I heard he could be a bit of dick but he seemed pretty cool to me. We talked for a little bit between drills and stuff, told me he had spent a lot of his Spring out at his Virginia home....must be cool to make all that money and have all those nice homes I guess. Not really my thing to flaunt money but I noticed a lot of the guys around here do that and that's pretty sweet; nice rides and suits and the whole nine yards. Meanwhile, I'm rolling up in some cheap suit from JCPenny, LOL! I'm rooming with fellow rookie, receiving Adam Jennings from Fresno State. He's a pretty chill dude and he said he remembered me throwing all over the Bulldogs my two seasons in SJSU, haha. Apparently he's spoken to C.J. about me before and C.J. was pretty upset for what he had done to me. He actually made me feel pretty bad about the whole thing....eh. Maybe I'll give him a call? Said he knew Chloe too. I was like, "What?!?!" Haha. He met her out at Area in LA and stuff. Pretty cool dude altogether. Makes me wonder what Chloe's up to though. I didn't even tell her Ashley and I were getting married in September. Maybe I should give her a call too....

****************************** August 11th, 2006 ******************************Well preseason has officially begun and let me be the first to say, either we're good or the Patriots are overrated this season! I say we because I played terrible and honestly don't wanna talk about it but I did manage to lead a near comeback that fell short in the end; we lost 27-20 after being down 20-7 at the half. I completed only 35% of my passes and threw heh....four interceptions! Woo, go me! Might as well seat myself in the third string spot now for good. Vick played a couple plays and then the rest of the first half was handed over to Schaub who didn't do that gloriously better than me but, good enough minus the whole only scoring 7 points thing. In my honest opinion, TJ Duckett is a beast and ran a lot better than Dunn did against the Pats D but it could've just been a fluke or whatever. Brady looked overrated too. He went 11-20 for like 175 yards or something with 2 TD passes and an INT. His 11-20 is what didn't impress me but what do I know? I'm sore bad though, gonna have the girl give me a nice massage because I need it ugh. A month till the wedding, then the real massages start. . BTW, I called C.J., I think we patched things up a bit and he and Liz actually broke up finally. She told me she was beating J.C. though, I'm livid about that but that's for another time. Think it's about time I take this kid into my custody from that sadistic woman.

****************************** August 20th, 2006 ******************************Everything anyone has ever said about Lambeau Field is true. There was just some kind of feeling about it when I stepped on the freshly cut grass for warm-ups. Just a few years ago, Vick became what I think is the only quarterback to ever beat Favre on Lambeau Field in the playoffs. Maybe it was just in the Wild Card round? Either way it had to be pretty cool. I hope I can make some history on a field like that.... In last night's game, Coach just had me play the second quarter. Did a whole lot better, went something like 5-of-9 for I don't even remember how many yards and a touchdown pass + a touchdown run. Yup. I was pleased and so was Coach Mora. I think it's fair to assume I'm going to be third-string this year but hey, what can you do? I'm a Rookie yet, so I'm not complaining. If it's God's will, I'll get my chance. We won the game, pretty big actually, something like 38-17. I don't remember exactly and won't lie that the score wasn't all that important to us, at least not to me. I just wanted to impress and I believe I did that. I told Ashley I wanted to invite Chloe to the wedding and surprisingly, she was pretty cool about it. Called up Chloe and she sounded like a mess, guess things haven't been going her way of late, I gave her some advice about what to do but I'm not sure she was all that interested so I just invited her to the wedding and got all the phone. Seems she's drinking her problems away....ugh, poor girl. I've informed Liz that I'll be taking her to court to gain custody of J.C., that woman is not going to be beating my son, let alone drinking like she does and did while she was pregnant. Next week we're out at Tennessee and then we finish the preseason at home against the Jaguars. 3 weeks till the wedding and the first regular season game!

****************************** September 1st, 2006 ******************************Well, preseason is officially over. I definitely turned myself around in those last 3 games and evened up my TD's and interceptions at four. I led the team in passing yards and to be quite honest, I think Matt Schaub outplayed Vick and should be starting but we know that's not happening with all the money they play the running quarterback. We went 3-1, which is good I guess, even though I noticed the Colts go 0-4 like every year and always go deep into the playoffs. I guess it doesn't really matter but I think we played well against all the teams we played. I've been getting so nervous though, my wedding's in a week out in California. Got my whole family flying out there and we're having the wedding at her parents crib because they have a massive backyard. My grandmother is marrying us since she's a reverend and can marry us legally. I hope she's able to do it without breaking down, she's always been pretty emotionally, especially since Rob died, ya know? I just can't wait to finally married to this girl. What's worse is after the wedding and by the time the reception is over, her and I are only gonna get to spend a little time together before we gotta get sleep to head out to Carolina REAL early in the morning to catch up with the team to take on the Panthers in the season opener. Oh well, I'm just happy to have her. I'm still surprised Coach even let us do this, it's cutting things real close, we probably should've moved the wedding out here. Speaking of sleep and stuff, I better catch some, got practice in the morning, watch some film and what not. Peaaaace!

****************************** September 10th, 2006 ******************************I must've been shitting bricks when I woke up in the morning. It took a minute but when I remembered how I got to California, it hit me...."I'm getting married!" From then on it felt like Mike Tyson just popped me in the gut. When I walked downstairs in her parents' house, I saw her father and a bunch of my friends already up, waiting to get me all ready for the wedding. My cousin Nick took it upon himself to tease me about how I'll never be with another girl and the rest of the guys talked about how much of an idiot was; I knew they were joking though, they knew damn well this girl was the best thing in my life. Better than football even. Ashley and her cousins slept at her Aunt June's house. I was so antsy to see her. I knew she'd look gorgeous in that white dress of hers and for once, the white dress could actually be taken seriously. 10 AM hit and I was all dressed and ready to go, looking fly and everything, rocking some Oakley's because it was BRIGHT. Before I knew it, I was out on the lawn in front of a couple hundred people. My best man, my brother, James standing beside me as I waited....and waited....and waited....and waited. I started buggin' out. For all I know she wasn't supposed to be there yet but I was panicking. I felt like I'd been standing there for so long and I think other people started noticing too. "She's not gonna stand me up is she?" I turned and asked James. He had gotten permission from Coach Paterno to come out here. I'm not sure if they had a game but he said this was more important. Finally, the piano began. I looked up from the ground and there she was. That beautiful white gown leading to her beautiful, vibrant face. I could tell she was crying and that in itself made me smile. Wedding music always bugged me, who thought of that annoying beat that almost mimics your walk? Da, da da da, da da da da....shut up! Her Dad handed her off to meet and I looked right into her eyes, those beautiful hazel eyes. The whole deal to follow was amazing, I never realized how important all of that stuff was, it always seemed boring, but it meant so much when it was me standing up there. "I do." As soon as I heard those words, my eyes teared up. Something must've flew into my eye, . Seriously though, it was finally here. I had loved this girl for over 2 years now and she was officially my wife....it was the best feeling in the world. The reception was so much fun, dancing and all that stuff. My Dad's toast really shook me up; it meant more than anyone will ever know and I know Ashley's sister's toast did the same. It really was an amazing night....REALLY AMAZING. . Now we're on the plane out to Carolina, she's asleep next to me, it was a long night, haha! I'll get back at you guys after the game or tomorrow, whichever one. Leave it, peaaaace.

Now I'm totally caught up. Good stuff, man. Everything is working out for Shannon. That's always great to hear. I say Vick goes down midseason and Kennedy and Schaub split the time on the field.

****************************** September 10th, 2006 ******************************Well, what more is there to say other than we lost? I sat on the sidelines...cool! Haha, nah, it was a whole lot different. From 30,000+ in San Jose State to nothing to the sidelines in the Georgia Dome before some crazy face-painted fans, it was awesome. As usual, Vick's passing numbers are likely what held us down, that and our terrible defense. I hope things improve ya know? Don't wanna watch us go through a terrible season. Vick ran for 100+ yards but I'm anticipating that to be a usual thing, which is cool don't get me wrong, but he's gotta get us some wins too in the process. 38-10 was the score, it's only the first game though so I'm not too worried, we've got a good team and Vick's a great athlete and leader. Ashley and I are heading out for dinner with the guys and then we're coming back to the crib. Honeymoon anyone? Haha tonight and tomorrow yea, then it's back to practice and film on Tuesday!

****************************** September 17th, 2006 ******************************Make that 1-1! Mike played a whole lot better today, through for 200+ and ran for close to 80 yards or so. The defense played stellar and Coach Mora had everything rolling well. The parents said they're flying out to New Orleans to see my game next week even though I probably won't be playing. Pretty sweet, the realization that I'm in the NFL just keeps hitting me more and more, it's just...amazing! Speaking of the fam, James got redshirted at Penn State so he'll be riding the pine this year it seems. Anthony Morelli will be taking the reigns after Michael Robinson graduated and was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers as a running back. Ashley and I have begun attempting at a kid now. Speaking, the situation with J.C.'s getting interesting but I'll keep you updated, I just pray I can get the kid into my custody!

****************************** September 24th, 2006 ******************************Reggie Bush is phenomenal...I'm speechless. We lost again, 27-15. Brees, Bush, and Deuce just stomped all over us and the offense couldn't really get things going early on. Oh well. I wish I could've played, I can't believe it's been three years since his death. Every once and awhile I wonder where things might be if he was still here...I love you kid...R.I.P.

****************************** December 25th, 2006 ******************************MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! Well, it's been a longgggggggg time since I've written in here, just been busy with practice, games, the wife, and winning the case to get my son out of the hands of that evil woman and thankfully, we were successful and J.C. gets to have his first Christmas with his father. It's amazing how quickly they grow, it seems like just yesterday I found out that he was even my son. Can't thank God enough for this gift and now that his mother is out of the picture, it truly is just a gift and not punishment for sin as well. Got him so many toys, I can't wait to watch him try and unwrap his gifts and see his eyes light up at all the stuff he got. I love the kid and speaking of kids...Ashley's pregnant! Yup, we found out around Thanksgiving time and she's due in mid-to-late August. Back to football, We're 9-6 now, just lost a big overtime game early today...or yesterday now vs. Carolina 26-20. They're 12-3. We win next week and we should be in the playoffs. Vick has had an amazing year rushing the ball and I gotta say I'm happy to be playing behind a man like him. He's got a bit of an attitude sometimes but he's chill. I'll hit you up for more later though ladies and gents, peaaaaaaaaace.
