Steve McClaren is out as manager of the England national squad. Grant Starkweather is in. I'll be using Worldwide Soccer Manager, which is just the North American version of Football Manager 08. Since I can attend the club matches of England players, I'll give some feedback on how my player are doing in the games I attend, as well as the overall state of the Premiership.

Manchester United v. Chelsea Community Shield I have decided to travel to the Community Shield to watch Manchester United take on the Chelsea Blues. This will allow me to get a first hand look at some key players for the England squad. John Terry, Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard, Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney will be of key focus, including others. Match Report Chelsea took a lot more shots at goal, 14, than Man Utd, 6, and it payed off. Andriy Shevchenko's beautiful strike in the 31st minute was the difference as Chelsea prevailed 1-0 to win the Community Shield. Chelsea played a lot of ball control after Shevchenko's goal and never really allowed Man Utd to get into a rhythm to find the equalizer. Petr Cech was spectacular in goal and was never really challenged by Rooney or Carlos Tévez.

Hines? He's the one who's a US citizen I believe, though I don't think he can play for us. Interesting call-ups for sure, should be a decent fixture against Germany

Could you post rosters for the games too? I don't know if that's too much, I'd just like to see match selections and who gets subbed in, little things like that. But if that requires you to type a bunch of shit up, I'd understand.

Yeah there should be a place that shows roster and subs after the game, I'll look for it and get a screen shot for the next game.

I'm liking this. I did a game with Olympique de Marseille and won 8 league titles, multiple domestic cups, and the Champions League twice. I got bored so I'm going to do a new game starting unemployed.

Chelsea vs Liverpool With just a little under two weeks to go until the next Euro 2008 qualifier, I have decided to attend the Chelsea vs Liverpool match. I will be sure to keep my eye on captain John Terry, Frank Lampard, Joe Cole, Steven Gerrard and maybe even get a glimpse of Peter Crouch who is coming off a suspension. Match ReportChelsea were definitely the aggressors in this match, firing 14 shots (9 on target). However Liverpool keeper Charles Itandje was up for the challenge and earned Man of the Match honors by not conceding a single goal. None of the Reds six shots found the back of the net either, and the match closed at a 0-0 draw. John Terry made an early mistake which almost resulted in a Liverpool goal, but he recovered nicely to put on an acceptable performance. Meanwhile Peter Crouch came off the bench in the 61st minute but didn't really have sufficient time to have any real influence on the match.
