Ok here's the deal. You have to use the number 5 three times and the number 1 one time. You can add, subtract, multiply, and divide. You have to get a total of 24. See if you can do it!
EDIT: You can't use the number 5 more than three times but only three times. Same goes with the number 1. You can only use it once.

(5 * 5) / 5 - 1 + 20 = 24.
You never said you can use any numbers other than 1 and 5.

You don't have to use any other digits, this isnt a trick question.
Ill give others a chance to answer though before posting

Interested in finding out the answer... not interested enough to go through the steps of figuring it out myself.

Am I mistaken or am I getting 23.75 with that equation...
EDIT: Nevemind, I reworked the math and it came out to be 24. Great job! You get a cookie...

lolz... thats what i messaged him
i thought i remembered seeing one of these jawns on here way back, where you squared a number, which would work for this but i don't know if that would be against the rules...
5^2=125 125/5=25 25-1=24
That would be my guess of what he thought it was if he did know it, or else I guess he just asked us to do work for him lol.
