I know McGahee usually does this but I don't know if he is around here anymore. You get $1,000 fake betting dollars. If you run out you get an extra $300. The way I'm going to do it is that you get the odds at post time. So if a horse you bet is 10-1 morning line but after the race he is 5-1...your getting the 5-1 odds.
You can bet however you want and whatever amount you want. Also, there is just Win, Place, and Show wagering.
The Derby is this Saturday, here are the post positions and morning line odds...
PP Horse Trainer Jockey Odds 1 Cool Coal Man N. Zito J. Leparoux 20-1 2 Tale Of Ekati B. Tagg E. Coa 15-1 3 Anak Nakal N. Zito R. Berajano 30-1 4 Court Vision B. Mott G. We didn't make it. We were 25th and needed 5 to drop out but they didn't. Might go to the Preakness.

Clayton, care to give any handicapping on this field? I was going to ride our favorite Big Brown, but him getting the 20 slot is a big deal. I was looking at Gayego too, but guess what, he lines up 19. Since I'm a complete novice at this, you think it gives Pyro or any other favorite starting in the middle an advantage?
If I have no idea what I'm talking about, tell me. I just like to watch horses run.

I like Pyro. His last race was on a cushion track instead of dirt. The Derby is ran on Dirt instead of the synthetic...you may or may not know that Pyro tanked it last outing running like 7th. I'm not sold on Big Brown like most are and that 20 post may kill him...if he does win then we may have the next Triple Crown winner because he will have to be much the best.
All of these horses have a shot except the filly. She may be scratched but they really want to run her so time will tell. Gayego is a nice pick too, he ran very will in his last start.
I'll do mine now... $150 to Win on Pyro $50 to Win on Tale Of Ekati $50 to Win on Z Humor $50 to Win on Smooth Air $50 to Win on Gayego $50 to Win on Cowboy Cal $50 to Win on Colonel John $50 to Win on Z Fourtune
Saved: $500

Great Race...I was kind of pulling for Adriano. I know the owner personally and he lives near me. I don't think Adriano finished too well though.

Gee, the announcers are really something. Heaping praise upon Big Brown but then mention in passing that Eight Belles was "injured." I'm not saying they should turn this into a funeral.....but Christ, when Barbaro lost it, the whole freaking world stopped...it's like they don't want to acknowledge it.

Well they didn't know, all the knew was injured and well she wasn't a household name. Not much of a story either, breaks both ankles and is put down. Sad...but not media gutwrenching sad.

Eight Bells defined the meaning of "leaving it all on the playing field".
Big Brown paid $6.80 for the win.

Clayton, care to enlighten me on what you think of Big Brown and his chances to win the Triple Crown? I'm just curious, because I thought he put on a hell of a show at the Derby.

He's got a great shot. Everyone from the Derby is running away and as of now, not running in the Preakness. I think however the Preakness will be the toughest test for him. He has bad feet and coming back in two weeks may hurt him but he looks like a great horse.
As for Eight Belles, she actually broke an ankle during the race coming down the stretch. It happens when she makes a nice move and looks like she is going to threaten Big Brown and then drops back a bit. That whole time she was running harder on the other ankle and then that one finally gave out and broke...then she fell.
