Exactly 30 percent of the songs in my itunes library are by bands that start with an 'A'. True fact.
And if that isnt amazing enough, get this. Another exactly 30 percent are in the R-S-T range.
Wow.

Coincidentally, exactly 40 percent ARE NOT by A, R, S, or T bands.

I chuckled...
For me it depends if you count "The" as a T. I have a lot of "The __________" going on. I've only got my iPod with me right now though, my iTunes has more on there. So I can't say if I'm in your boat.

"The" does not count as T because itunes ignores "the" when you sort. For example, I am including The Academy Is under 'A' because itunes has it between AC/DC and Adair.

I thought that's how we did this, but I wanted to be sure. Oh and I really don't have any dominate letter. If I had any, it'd be "R" and "S" but those are very common letters. I'm more impressed by your As. Care to post a short-list of those bands?

A bit unrelated but I'm OCD with my iTunes. All my artists are ordered alphabetically, and I went through and organized it by last name. I also updated and alphabetized all composers...

Im the same way. I keep every song in the same format (just the title, artist, album, track/total tracks, genre, and art), can't have some with album artists and some with composers and some with disc numbers while others arent. Also Im really nitty about capitalizing and not capitalizing certain words.

It turns out handy.

Since I "borrow" music from friend's iTunes, I've been known to get crap that is capitalized wrong. I must fix this. I'm also with DB about album art, I must have that.

Improperly capitalized songs/bands really piss me off.
I think requiring the album art is standard.

Some of the shared libraries I am able to pick up in the dorms are downright embarassing and make me a bit mad on the inside. Such dissonance.

i have to have everything rated, album art and everything filled out (artist, album, title (only title and not numbers) and i like to have atleast everything played atleast once so I don't have spaces in total plays.

I have to have everything filled out. Also, I need to have the album art. Also, I have some serious issues if I have a single track and not the whole album.

All I do is sort by total plays. That would drive me crazy. I generally like to just listen to CDs through when I decide to listen to music. So it is best to have it in order of artist. Go down, find who I want to listen to and then choose that CD (which is OK Computer at the moment). It's just too easy my way

Exactly, I have to listen to albums straight through.
My top five rotation right now involves
Bullet for My Valentine - The Poison (Deluxe) Northstar - Polyanna Aiden - Our Gang's Dark Oath AFI - I Heard a Voice (Live from Long Beach) Madina Lake - From Us, Through Them, to You
although I listen to the Stalins War half of A Split of Nightmares every day too.

Exactly. Something is lost in translation when you listen to single songs, at least it is for me.
My top five (like anyone actually cares) recently has been:
Alligator- The National OK Computer- Radiohead Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga- Spoon Gimme Fiction- Spoon Viva La Vida- Coldplay (You know how I know I'm gay?)
Boxer by The National is about to overtake though, because I've noticed I've listened to that every day over the past week.
