www.operationsports.com/mm/showthread.php?t=186018I know some of you including myself post over at MM, so you might have seen this already, but this looks like a bad, bad deal. The conspiracy theory floating around there doesn't seem all that far-fetched, though. EA probably just wants to prove a point to roster guys like FK and PP. However, PP got his roster and hasn't had any problems. Who knows? We'll find out when the game hits Tuesday.

if this is for real I will be seriously cheesed.
normally I would say I'll just buy it cause I love NCAA so much but teams disappearing? Come on that is ridiculous. How, if there is one, would a patch be distributed? Through XBL? I'm definitely holding off on buying this until EA makes some sort of statement.

well technically ea has it in their exclusive contract with ncaa that player names aren't supposed to be in the game so maybe EA doesn't appreciate guys like FK and PP getting early copies and posting rosters.

This right here is why I took the wait and see approach this year. Very unhappy with the news coming out from the jackasses that got the game early. It's fine though, I'll just save up for Fifa and get that new pair of sunglasses I've been wanting instead. Then buy it used in September and be happy.

Which is why EA made the EA Locker for that purpose. So why would they waste their time with that if it was all a "conspiracy"? Not necessarily you cooljay, but people need to chill. Why would EA do something like this on purpose, especially when they know people will talk about it and they will lose money? It's freakin stupid.

not really the ea locker isn't specifically intended for roster sharing but for file sharing in general. The fact that rosters can be transmitted is just a bonus.

So if they really didn't want the rosters to be transmitted, don't you think they could have done something about that? I'm sure they could. But the conspiracy crap is unbelievable. Yeah, EA is out to get us.

Yeah, EA is out to get us. Whoa, hold on a sec. Don't shoot the messenger. Is it likely true? No. But right now, I wouldn't put it past EA to do something like this. I mean, people like Fairdale and Padre are making money off people for their hard work, which is fine since they do a great job and don't have to put in the time to do so. Don't you think EA put the EA Locker feature in for a reason? They want people to use it. Furthermore, they're not out to get the people that buy this game in general, it seems like (if this is in fact true) that they are out to get the people who get the game early.

Well that sounds a lot better than they are doing it to punish FK and PP for making rosters. If the rosters were really that big of a deal, EA wouldn't allow you to edit the names in the first place. So thank you for clearing yourself up bearcat.

It doesn't have anything to do with trying to prove a point.
The player last names are only available for 11 characters, if it goes past that then it takes up extra space on the file, and it has to remove some teams and players to account for that.
BTW, Pasta didn't even make the roster file. It was given to him by EA, how else would he have hyphens and symbols on it when no one else could? And this was backed up by ChrisS at MM, so its not me BSing right here.

So if the NCAA gave them to Pasta, does that mean they are correct?

So if the NCAA gave them to Pasta, does that mean they are correct? The NCAA didn't, apparently someone at EA did.

The NCAA didn't, apparently someone at EA did. Ahhh! My bad. But is it safe to assume they are good rosters? I mean I know fairdales are good, but if Pasta got them from EA, they seem like they should be fine.

As long as there's a workable set of rosters, I'm rolling with them.
