I hate to say it because I truly believe the SEC as a whole is overrated but..they really are the best conference in the country. The Big Ten looks terrible and the Pac-10 only has a couple good teams. Ohio State's losing to Ohio, Miami is competing with Michigan right now, Marshall is taking it to Wisconsin, and for awhile there the Illini were struggling against Eastern Illinois.
Granted Auburn doesn't look all that great either..

I think it'd be convenient for college football if Ohio State lost this game. Otherwise we may very well wind up with them in the National Championship game AGAIN and that's not right.

How would it not be right? We earned our way in 06 and 07, I didn't hear anyone calling Oklahoma undeserving when they lost back-to-back NC's. Pac-10 is virtually the same as Big Ten... difference in national perception only caused by the fact that USC has won thier bowl games against the conference runner up while playing 20 minutes from their home. Anyone want to argue the national perception of Ohio State and USC?

They produce a shit load of high draft picks, win National titles, heismans, play in the great city of L.A., dominate their conference year in and year out, dont get blown out in national title games, dont schedule cupcakes, etc.......

You earned it last season by playing that cupcake schedule and bullshit conference (my Nittany Lions included). 2006..maybe they shoulda taken a shot with Boise State and I'm not kidding. Even if they weren't as good as they looked, they did a damn good job beating Oklahoma and I find it hard to believe they wouldn't have played their behinds off against Florida as well.
Two years getting blown out of the NC game is what makes it wrong if they're in again. The National Championship is supposed to be the best game of the year and it hasn't delivered because Ohio State's offense sucks and their defense can't handle a real team. The last team to be a part of one of the BEST NC games ever? USC. hmm..

We did what we were supposed to do in 07, outside of losing to Illinois. Don't try me with that motherfucking bullshit schedule response for 07 because we had the 38th ranked schedule in America, and gee, where was America's angel USC ranked? 73rd. If you don't beleive me then take a look for yourself. web1.ncaa.org/d1mfb/2007/Internet/toughest%20schedule/ia_9games_cumm.pdfLet me ask you this, what the FUCK does what happened in the past have to do with this season? We had to replace 9 starters on D in 2006 and 8 starters on offense in 07 and the fact that we made it to the NC in back-to-back years considering the situations is nothing short of incredible. Your really letting your hate of Ohio State get in the way of your thinking. As I say this I am letting my bias play into it as well but I can back it up with stats..

It's college football, replacing starters isn't all that difficult for a program like Ohio State. The sole point I have with them getting blown out twice is that no one wants to see it for a third year in a row and quite frankly why would you? If they wind up in the National Championship this year, there better not be teams that can go in ahead of them and put on a better game.

After osu loses to USC next week, lets hope they drop at least 2 big ten games and see how that affects their national title hopes.

You usually don't see a player start to get comfortable until their 2nd year as a starter. As for next week.. eh. If we win woo, if we lose, then at least we don't get blown out in the NC again. My early call though is a 27-24 USC win.

I think UGA is a tad overrated. That's just my personal opinion.
OSU loses in the championship game twice in a row, so now they have to forfeit their chance to play in that game? You've got to be kidding me. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
I would much rather see OSU get into the title game than some undefeated cupcake like Hawaii. If there was anyone who didn't deserve to play in the NC it was LSU.
I think I'm also missing where OSU got smashed last year. I mean, I don't know if I'm the only one, but I don't think 14 points is a smashing.
