I have no idea why Shawne Merriman is playing this year. The Bolts could play with ten men on D and STILL win the AFC West.

That also seems stupid to me. Did he play well in the game?, because if he can still play at a high level, it kinda makes sense. Still, this decision to play could potentially cost him a lot of money.

Though it has not been proven as fact, it's widely accepted by most experts that one has a higher chance of making an injury worse by playing football rather than not playing football.

"I don't know why everybody's celebrating"......? =/= saying people shouldn't care or that they'll be anywhere near as good as they have been. All I was saying was that people shouldn't get all excited about this already when they seriously have a great shot at making the playoffs anyway and are far from out of it.

Its also his contract year though, or so I've heard. Nobody wants surgery done to their knee during a contract year, just so he can be docked by San Diego or in free agency because they'll say that they dont know how good he'll be after the surgery. Hurting it by playing also is a big risk too, but I think he's in a lose-lose situation either way. He wants the money, so he's going to try to stick it out all season and put up good numbers.

True, but if he hurts it more, he's losing even more money. People are gonna pay him well despite his surgery simply because of who he is. I have a feeling he's gonna hurt himself in more ways than one playing on that thing.

well ESPN is reporting Merriman is done for the year. he's going to get surgery. While I don't like him all that much (his on-field antics are idiotic), this is a very smart decision, and I hope it works out. Good for him.

look all I know is that if someone doucher did that my QB I as an offensive lineman would take it upon myself to beat the fuck out of him. then all i know is that you are a retard who cant control his temper that shouldnt play football obviously you haven't played offensive line then. The quarterback is like our newborn baby if somebody fucks with him we fuck him up

Brady still had the fucking ball. Keep your man in front of you instead of throwing him to the ground in front of the QB and it isnt a problem.

I know you're a Pats fan, but you're digging a deeper hole with each post on the subject you make. The NFL doesn't seem to agree with you, anyways. Pollard was just trying to make a play, and was being held to the ground at the same time. Where else could he go? It wasn't like Brady had let go of the ball a few seconds earlier.
