Poor CC. He's going to be expected to do a lot of stuff since he's getting paid that much money. It'll be interesting to see how he does in NYC.

I truly believe he, as well as every "big deal" pitcher that we're probably going to get is going to be a huge bust but we're gonna overpay them anyway. AND give them long-term contracts! I can't wait!

Rays traded Edwin Jackson to Detroit for Matt Joyce. I like that deal.

I can't wait! I'm not really mad the Yanks got CC. He's an awesome pitcher. I'm more mad at the fact they are trading Melky Cabrera for Mike Cameron of all people, and possibly trading Cano for Orlando Hudson. Yup. Just keep trading the future away.

Yanks are also reportedly after AJ Burnett, as well.

The Yankees strategy of "throw money at the best free agent available" once again manifests itself.
And once again will fail.

The Yankees strategy of "throw money at the best free agent available" once again manifests itself. And once again will fail. Yep. I hate it. I was absolutely content with rolling with Swisher and maybe Burnett because Burnett isn't all that spectacular; his money makes me puke though because of that fact. Swisher at 1st, Cano at 2nd, Jeter, A-Rod, Posada/Molina, Damon, Gardner, Nady, and Matsui at DH switching it up with Damon and Nady when needed...wtf was wrong with that?

Neither is worth the money they've been signed for and CC has far from impressed me. He was good for a couple months in Milwaukee in the NL..ooooh. He's inconsistent as shit, just what this teams needs some more of: inconsistency.

He's inconsistent as shit, just what this teams needs some more of: inconsistency. A .303 batting average, 30+ homeruns, 100 RBI's. 17 wins and a 2.70 ERA, not to mention 251 K's in 253 innings and 10 complete games. You've got to be fucking kidding me loki. What do you want? Would you rather re-sign Carl Pavano? Want to bring back .247 batting average Jason Giambi? How about Pettite who was inconsistent as shit? The Yankees eliminated approx. 88 million for next year with the loss of Pettite, Abreu, Mussina, Pavano, Giambi. The three players they have signed this year, will make about 62 million combined. They signed long term deals. That's why they are making the money they are. I'm sick of people bitching about the money. Tampa Bay made the world series on a 43 million dollar payroll and the Marlins were contenders with just over 20 million. You've got to give me something better than "they aren't worth the money". I'm so sick of people bitching about the Yankees. Sorry they are spending money to make their team better.

I'm so sick of people bitching about the Yankees. Sorry they are spending money to make their team better. First off, they've been spending money to make our team better since 2001 and we haven't won jackshit. The teams of 96, 98, 99, 2000 did not spend anywhere near this. I've had no problem with them spending money up until now. As I said, CC is inconsistent as shit. You bring up one year which proves nothing for inconsistency. Forget about the fact that he was sucking balls before getting traded out of Cleveland and the AL to the pitcher's favorite NL. The simple fact that he pitched all those innings is a concern all its own because CC was already bound for a huge injury as it was. Teixera puts up great numbers, good, great. He's always an asshole and still not worth the money he just got paid. If he chokes that A-Fraud..I'll be the one saying I told you so. It's easy to play in Atlanta and Texas when the rest of your team sucks..what difference did he make for the Angels? None. Neither of these guys have had to play anywhere near the level they'll be expected to in New York and quite frankly, I don't believe that at least CC, can handle it. And like I already said about what I "wanted", I didn't want ANY of the people we've signed. We didn't need to buy all of these overpriced players. I also didn't want Pavano, Giambi, Abreu, or Pettite. I'd much rather Moose but he's gone and I think it's fair to assume Pettite will be back. We've just signed on for a whole shitload of years with three people who I'm not too happy about. We have CC and Teixera forever it seems and CC can fall apart at any time with his weight alone. Burnett has injury issues as it is too. We went into that one thinking, "Well he kicked our ass all season, he must be good!" lol...ugh. I guess I could wind up being wrong and as a Yankee fan, I'd obviously hope to be. I don't believe I will be wrong though and we'll be stuck with each of these guys for a very long time when it's possible the good years of CC and Burnett's careers could be over before their contracts are. You look back on our big free agent signings and see what percentage of those actually worked out vs. the little players we signed/traded for who wound up helping a whole lot more. History is pointing against us.
