DB, I really can't understand how you still believe. You're just too smart. Don't see your point here, and what is your definition of smart? Continuing though. My life has been the best it's been in awhile over the past month and it is because of God. I can't remember the last time I was this peaceful and happy It's not that religious people are dumb, it's that at some point you reach the rational that it's just really really unlikely. It can have positive influences on your life, but so can any religion. It doesn't make it true. The question is truth in my mind, and the truth seems to be there is no personal God. Maybe a creator, but the God of Abraham just seems absurd.

Ok, I think I know what your saying Bama.
Let me see if I understand, you got to a point where, you added everything up and it didn't fit in and that led to you not believing right?
I do understand the positive influence part though, I can see exactly where you're coming from there.
As for me, the truth, as I perceive it, is Christianity (If you couldn't tell). I have had moments in my life where I can see God working things into my life and it has only strengthen my faith in him.

The idea of a personal God just doesn't vibe with what I see around me.

I understand both sides of this debate... I often find myself flip flopping back and forth between the two ideas. I mean, I want to believe... but sometimes it just seems so ridiculous it's pointless to waste so much time on it.

I think you are on the opposite spectrum, you haven't seen/felt his presence so you choose not to believe. Am I right by thinking that?

I know I have personally felt God's presence before I too have felt God's presence. (It was such an easy set up)

Trust me, that is amateur in comparison to the other things I have said. And just because I saw this picture and want to share it's funniness.

I also would like to send out a big fuck off to all the people who are not big enough to solve their problems for themselves then try to bitch me out because I was not available to help them. I am sorry, but I thought if you claim to be an independent 20 year old, you can solve simple problems yourself and not complain to people who were not able to help at the time.

Am I right by thinking that? More like the idea of a personal God is still absurd to me, so I decide to not believe in what I view as absurd.

Why am I supposed to care about St. Patrick again? What did he ever do for me? Other than being Irish....and that means Ted Kennedy's existence is probably his fault.

Related to DB: Am I the only person that finds that all the Irish people in schools don't really care that much about St. Pat's Day, and the non-Irish are those who go overboard and wear silly plastic leprechaun hats or big green earrings?
