All I saw on ESPN was Chase Daniel's family the entire game. You noticed that too? I also thought it was pretty shitty that some of the Tiger fans there booed him coming off the field after that last pick he threw. Pretty poor representation of the fanbase if you ask me, but still, he had a fantastic career. 30-11 in three seasons as a starter, and has every single passing record in the team's history. A lot of it seemed to be the high expectations (probably too high) that just seemed to fall in on the team. Unfortunate stuff, but I'll take back-to-back 10 win seasons. Considering where Mizzou football was even just three or four years ago, it's a commendable accomplishment. |

EDIT: Talked to a few buddies who were at the game and said they heard nothing of the sort. Unless there were a few fans that happened to be saying it near a mike or something, I think you might have been hearing things. |

Wife and I both had to work Monday but I never really talked to her about going down to SA after I got off work to go to the game... that whole day, tickets were on sale all across the stadium for HORRIBLY cheap - and it showed with how empty the place was. The economy is REALLY fucking with the stadiums...the Spurs games have been sad all year - I'm struggling to sell my tickets when I don't go compared to last year and when I do go, it's pretty poor. The last Dolphins home game while they're fighting for a playoff spot (at the time) probably had 5-6k empty seats... Texas Stadium had some empty seats when I was there... I haven't seen a sold out bowl game yet... |

Just a note...talked to a couple more friends that went to the game (had four or five of 'em that did) and they also said they didn't hear much out of the Mizzou fans besides the booing of Daniel. He did say that Northwestern fans were a little upset that a penalty wasn't called on the play that Wootton hurt his knee, but it was a non-contact play. I don't know what was going on exactly, but that's the word I've heard. BTW...the Big 10 is getting beat by the Big 12 again. kansas is up 35-14 on Minnesota right now at the Insight Bowl. |
