Well, I'm all in favor of growing the boards.

I just don't know how...exactly...we'd go about doing that. It's not like we need more forums right now. Off-topic is the only one anyone ever uses.

Baby steps. We'll get a gauge on things and then go from there. I'd like to build on things but I won't upset the whole scheme of things if it's determined that the remaining posters don't want that.

Nice. JTR stepping up from the get go. For the boards, i do like having this small community but we do need some life in here. Maybe we can set up gaming leagues and promote them around the interwebz? IDK. We got to think of something that'd draw people's attention other than saying "join these boards and you can talk about whatever you want".

Right. Which leads me to a potential future topic about bringing back the actual dynasty site. We'll give this a bit longer and then go from there. I need to speak to Freak about the logistics of making that happen.

At your service. However, any attempt to make a full site will be without www.dynastycentral.com domain name. Somebody nabbed it up and wants a pretty penny for it. While my heart may not be as full into the promotion end as it once was, I am still here to help. I feel kind of distant from it all (the sports/gaming sites), but any help you need in terms of design, site, or just general forum activity, I'm here.

Hmmm.....bringing back an actual dynasty site. Intriguing but lets be real, no one here are active dynasty makers anymore. Were you thinking about making an html compatible dynasty making site or a site that has links to people's dynasties like the one silver made for Dynasty Central freewebs?

Well, this poses the question. Nobody here makes dynasties. Our sample size is about ten.

If you're not going to pursue that idea, what exactly do your pursue? If we wantr to grow, we need to offer something interesting.

I would do a dynasty if we opened a site. I can't promise how often it would be updated, or how long it would be active, but I would start it back up again.

I also would do it if the site is back up....Id like the site to be fairly similar though...i liked the simplicity to it

That is where the trouble comes in. How do we go about that site since the code is gone? I can't imagine many of us hold more coding skills than HTML. Also, I think we would draw in activity with articles on current sports issues on the site. We are getting a sports following in here that could generate some more attention onto the dynasty section. Frankly, I feel the dynasty section itself will have a very difficult time standing on its own with the competition out there.

While I would like to see some familiar faces posting dynasties, that wouldn't be the goal. The idea of bringing a dynasty site back to attach to the forums would be to draw fresh blood to the site, giving them something to come here for other than talking about sports.

hmmm.....sports articles eh? Im down for that. I am majoring in Sports Media afterall. And all these dynasty sites out there dont allow the users to have as much freedom with HTML as the old DC did. It'd be hard to build a site that would give dynasty makers here that same freedom.

We could bring back DC Freewebs and have tutorials, graphics, and free layouts if any of us still on here are HTML efficient (I know i have some code stored somewhere on my laptop). We'd just have to have people create a freeweb account and ask silverchaos how to maintain that site since he made it afterall lol. .

I'd be down to help in anyway possible. I realize I haven't been around as of late but it's been more past computer troubles than anything.

Sports articles sounds like a great idea and I'd be more than happy to contribute in some way.

I have a buddy who is a sports journalist here at the U of I and he used to dynasties here...

I could talk to him about possibly joining if need be
