Well, here's my prediction: A Buckeye won't win the Heisman this year. It's just not happening to me.

Are you people out of your ******** minds!? Auburn? They're a 10-2 type team this year. They gotta play LSU, Alabama (with the four straight thing over their heads), Florida, Georgia, and possibly UGA and UF again in the SEC title game. They've lost all-american type linemen on offense and only return one receiver. Brandon Cox is going to have a hard time without those experenced wideouts, which will allow teams to key in on Irons more. Auburn for national champs, please. SEC perhaps, but they ain't good enough to go through the SEC without a loss or two.
National Title Game: USC vs Ohio State. Yes I'm going out on a limb with USC, but they have the talent to reload, and only really face two really tough games with ND (at home) and Cal. They're good enough to beat both, especally facing ND late in the year so that the offense has time to gel. That's my pick.
Heisman Trophy Winner: Brady Quinn (If he gets injured for the season after the first game, he'll still win)

Glad I'm not the only one who did a double take with all these Auburn predictions.

Title Game: West Virginia vs. Cal (not sure why Cal just a gut feeling) with Cal winning
Heisman: Brady Quinn

Cal has the offense to win 10 games this year, so a National Title isn't impossible. Tons of speed at WR, Lynch is a top five back and probably one of the fastest in the country, on top of having a pretty quick quarterback. The kind of speed they have will surprise a lot of teams this year. We'll get a good idea of how good they are on Sep. 2nd up in Knoxville.

i know i'll take a lot of flak for this, especially being an Auburn fan, but i certainly don't think we (Auburn) will be in the National Championship for two reasons
One: We never do good when everybody and their brother picks us to do good. Think about it. Three seasons ago, we were projected to go to the National Title game, and we got hosed in our first two games. Then, the next season, when everybody said we wouldn't do much better than the year before, we went undefeated. Then last year, we were projected to win maybe 6 games by a lot of people, and we went 9-3, with 2 of those losses being close games, despite the mistakes people made.
Two: Even if we do go undefeated, unless there is only one other team that goes undefeated, we will get screwed out of a National Championship birth just because the BCS hates the SEC, so if it's down to Auburn, Ohio State and West Virginia, OSU and WVU will get the National Title bids, despite the strength of schedule. If you don't believe me, look at the 2004 season results, as we had a much harder schedule than both USC and Oklahoma, and were never in consideration for the title game by the BCS.
So, i say that the game will come down to Ohio State and Notre Dame and that Notre Dame wins this time
Heisman goes to either Brady Quinn or Troy Smith

I know that Notre Dame doesnt have a National Title team, and I kind of dont want to see Quinn win the heisman because he has no competition, that wouldnt be exciting.
With that said....
Texas or USC will be playing OSU in the national championship game. Anyone who is saying West Virginia has been watching to much SportsCenter.
Look for Lousville RB Michael Bush for a heisman run. At 6-3 and 250 pounds. His 24 touchdowns last year can only get better.

Bush is a monster up there, and I think that'll be WVU's downfall. Louisville ought to be just about as good as WVU, if not better. So they'll win that game and knock WVU out of the title hunt. They're a top 15 team at best, the only thing they have is an easy schedule. Trust me, Pat White does not have the arm of a Vick (both), a Smith (Brad or Troy), or a Young. He's not good enough, and it'll show against decent competition. Brady Quinn is still my Heisman. An outstanding quarterback playing for ND is almost automatic Heisman in my mind. He'll be deserving too, at least I think he will, so he'll win end of story. Final note, Auburn won't just not win it all because of hype. They'll lose games because they lost 2 OTs, 4 of their top five pass catchers, two DTs and a DE, a linebacker, and a cornerback. They've lost seven on offense and 5 on defense. Compare that to a team like Alabama (I have to), who's getting no respect. Bama lost 2 starters on offense (Croyle is a huge loss though) and five on defense. So was Auburn that much better than Alabama last year? 28-18 doesn't look too bad, especally when you consider the disaster that was the first quarter. Alabama played the Aubbies even after that. Both lost to LSU in overtime, and finish the regular season with the same record. So take away five more starters from Auburn, and they're top five material. Take seven total starters from 22, and that means you're at the bottom of the top 25. Makes sense to me. *Yes I'm bitter*
