It's halfway through the year, and to me, that means it's time to look back on our picks, and see how badly we messed up.
I never stated mine here, but it was Ohio State vs Auburn. Arkansas took care of that one.
My prediction of a Buckeye not winning the Heisman failed badly, so far at least.

My Ohio State/USC is still looking pretty damn solid. Though Brady Quinn and Heisman isn't feeling quite as good with the way Smith has played.
Really the only thing I've missed in pre-season is how good Florida looks.

I see a Florida Vs. West Virginia national championship.
I just can't see OSU getting out of the big ten undeafeted I know they have played great all season, but i watched NIU run all over that defense in week 1 and I think Michigan will take them. I think Florida will go undeafeated and West Virginia will dominate Louisville in 3 weeks.
Maybe I'm crazy.....
O and the heisman: Garrett Wolfe
Maybe it's just cause I live 10 miles away and have been at 3 games this season, but watching him play... is amazing.
He will make it a close race in 3 weeks when he runs all over Toledo on national television at home.

I hope if there is a one loss team in a top confernece (SEC or Big 10) that they hop over WVU. They really don't deserve it with that weak ass schedule.

If he breaks the rushing record I dont see how you can't give it to him.

If he breaks the rushing record I dont see how you can't give it to him. Yeah but NIU isn't exactly Ohio State. If Troy Smith keeps putting up good numbers, even if Wolfe breaks the record it'll be tough to give it to him. I think they could, and really should, but Troy Smith winning it wouldn't be surprising either.

Now its no more than "Best player on the best team." If OSU wins out then Smith will win it, though he shouldnt.

I think Wolfe's performance against Iowa on Oct. 28 will be a determining factor in his Heisman Race.

Hmmmm........ he gains like 185 against OSU but can only manage 25 against WMU. His Heisman hopes took a shot yesterday, no doubt about it.

Calvin Johnson has a prime opportunity to pull into the Heisman mix with another big game against Clemson. Right now #21 is second on ESPN's Heisman Watch, buttIt will still take a screw-up or two by Troy Smith, though, to give him a reasonable shot at winning.

Colt Brennan won't win the heisman but he should contend for it. how can you ignore an 183.0 passing rating when you throw over 40times a game? and 73% completion percentage...

Well I think usually they look at that as more of the system rather than the player. But I do agree that is pretty impressive.

Well I think usually they look at that as more of the system rather than the player. But I do agree that is pretty impressive. They always say the system but to have the numbers in that type of system takes a special player. I mean to be able to have a 73% completion percent when you've thrown over 273times already and going 32/39 for 409yards and 5TDs and 0INts isn't just the system you have to have a damn QB to have those types of numbers... Timmy Chang even though hes one of my favorite QBs ever... yes he was nothing more than a system QB... but Colt Brennan, in the same system is more than a system QB.

Until the media gets rid of its raging boner for the East Coast, a guy like Brennan will never win the Heisman.
Never.

Until the media gets rid of its raging boner for the East Coast, a guy like Brennan will never win the Heisman. Never. Raging boner for the East? The last 5 have been from the west at least from Nebraska and Oklahoma and to the west. The last person to win from the east was Weinke in 2001.
