If Rutgers beats WVU OR Louisville, and Ray Rice is the reason, he gets the Heisman
Michigan v Texas in the NC.

Until the media gets rid of its raging boner for the East Coast, a guy like Brennan will never win the Heisman. Never. Because Southern California is so close to the East Coast right?

Ohio State vs Michigan- National Championship Just throwing that out there. It's totally possible, I was thinking about it and I drew up a scenario: Louisville beats WVU Rutgers beats Louisville WVU beats Rutgers (Pitt might beat WVU, not sure about that)...This takes care of the Big East Auburn loses to Bama Arkansas beats Florida in the SEC Champ. Arkansas is too far back, they won't challenge for a BCS Champ. berth, taking care of the SEC Texas loses to Okie St. next week, taking care of the Big 12 (OSU is too far back) USC loses to Cal, maybe Oregon (I won't bring myself to say ND will beat them), and I think Cal is too far back, no Pac-10 challenge. Granted, a lot of things need to happen for it to be a certainty, but I don't think that it's a crazy scenario.

My guess is UF-Ohio State now, but we'll see.

I don't really count SoCal in this because it's basically like an east coast city on the west coast. Second-biggest media market in the nation, of course the players out there are going to get more pub. I'm talking about smaller schools with good players like Brennan.

Yep, its going to be OSU/Mich v2 in the natl title game.
If a BE team gets in, it would be a travesty.

I think the space between UM-OSU is large enough now, and then after they play a close game, UM or OSU won't fall far and simply back into the championship over the WVU/Louisville winner. I just don't see the SEC champ getting in for some reason. The best shot is still Tennessee, because if they can win out, they are going to rocket up the BCS. Then again, they have to knock off LSU and Arkansas in two weeks in a row. That's a tough slate. Florida also has a great shot, but I just don't want to have the Aubbies be the only team to beat them.

Texas A&M. We'll win out and then beat Ohio State and then Jorvorskie Lane will win the Heisman. Hey, it's just my opinion! ;D

I'm talking about smaller schools with good players like Brennan. Brennan nows has a 185.00 Passer rating and only has 8more passing attempts over such top QBs as Brady Quinn. Brennan also leads in TD passes.. with 33.

If WV, Louisville, or Rutgers come out of the Big East with no losses they more than deserve to be in that title game. Those three teams are strong enough to earn an NC bid if they can beat the other two.

Well, I just think in everybody's mind that even if a Big East team comes out undefeated, they still didnt play as many tough opponents as contenders like Michigan, Ohio State, Florida, Texas, and Auburn played. I think if one of those three teams do get in that it wouldnt be as much of a contest for the other team involved. Plus, id personally be a little pissed if Florida wins out the rest of their games and one of those teams get in instead of us.

Despite Rutgers' success this year, and 8-0 is certainly impressive, I don't think they can beat either WVU or Louisville. At best they go 1-1 against them. Their success begins and ends with Ray Rice, and he has to get the ball 30+ times over a game in order to be effective. Against UConn, he had around 20 carries, and had fewer than 100 yards. I don't know about their defense, but what I'm gathering is that Rice keeps them off the field alot. If you shut Rice down, make Teel beat you, then you can beat Rutgers, because I'm not sure if their defense is any good. I tend to agree with Leak here, the SEC champion, if they have one loss, should go to the NC. WVU and UL might be good teams, but play week in and week out against the SEC, and I truly feel they go 9-3 or 10-2.
EDIT: Oh, and I forgot to add that I do think that Rice is a legit Heisman contender. I don't think that Rutgers will win the BE, however.

Oh yeah: QB Rating Rankings: #1 Colt Brennan - 189.95 #2 Colt McCoy - 172.10

Rating is all fine and dandy, but what has he really done to separate himself from the rest of the quarterbacks that have gone through Jones' offense? I'm not saying he's not as good as Chang, but it's hard to judge a quarterback in an offense like this. Let's see if they can win out first, get to a good bowl game, and then we'll talk. The way I see it, he's got to play in a good bowl, and play very well to have a shot. Even then, it's not going to be enough as long as Troy Smith is healthy at Ohio State.

Hes like a thousand times better than Chang was.. Chang was a system quarterback... Brennan isn't. I really don't think he has a chance to win the heisman but today he was ranked #5 in the ESPN heisman chart.. but I don't think hes gonna overcome the nations boner for troy smith

You act like I don't think he's going to win the Heisman or something. Honestly, I really hope someone like this wins it in the near future. There's still four games left, assuming you counted the bowl as part of those four games. I'm not saying that he is a "system" quarterback. He very well could be better than that. But the media perception of this offense is that you could plug your grandma in at quarterback and she'll throw for 4,000 yards and 40 TD. I know that this isn't always the case, and I think this is one of those occasions, but they don't give a rat's ass. Still, from what I've heard he's got more of what NFL scouts look for, moreso than what Chang did.
