I know it doesn't make sense, especially with the loss to Oregon State, but they did beat Arkansas (a one-loss team I believe) 50-14. I think it puts that into account here.

True, but in the season opener. Arkansas was nowhere near what they are right now during that time. Hell, thats like saying USC beat Rutgers in the season opener and taking it as lets move them up to #3 because of it you know? Who would of thought Arky would be where they are at that time.

Lol, someone can't take their team being hated on. Brennan is a system QB, and Hawaii plays in the WAC. That's all that's needed to be said.

He either says something about Hawaii being disrespected, or something about the nation having a boner for a team or player.

He either says something about Hawaii being disrespected, or something about the nation having a boner for a team or player. because its just right there Hawaii is disrespected.. Theres no point in saying Hawaii doesn't deserve anything because they play in the WAC. Just because they play in the WAC they should even try to build a good program and win games and should be respected as team? thats just ignorance right there. And I like how you Ircknewskool just bypassed my rebuttle to your "Brennan is just a system QB" I mean don't NFL teams want some that can run thier system? Don't they want a player that will run a system to thier best potential? Don't they want someone that will be in a system and work the best way the system can? So being a system quarterback isn't bad. I mean Ray Rice is a system running back. Rutgers runs the ball alot and they win because of it so thats why Ray Rice should'nt be accepted as a good football player because he runs alot? What about Troy Smith? the front runner for the heisman he runs Ohio State's system well man hes just a system QB also right? so just why don't you stop being a such an ignorant jerk.....

By protecting your team, you have also criticized the standing of players and teams above them. In essence, "Talking bad about them."
Troy Smith is not a system quarterback. A "System Player" is where a player enters into a system that has produced consistent results for different players. I don't think that Steve Bellisari, Craig Krenzal, or Joe Germaine qualify as having the same type of stats as Troy.
An example: Texas Tech Quarterbacks.
We aren't saying that Colt Brennan is a bad player. We aren't saying that he couldn't do well anywhere else. We are just saying that the type of system he plays in enables him to put up those type of numbers.

My opinion:
Colt's numbers are inflated by June Jones' run and shoot offense. It's really an impressive system, one that gave my Crimson Tide fits earlier this season. He's got an accurate arm, which allows him to put up those amazing numbers with few mistakes. You really don't have to have the arm of a Russell or a Manning to really do well in the run and shoot, you just have to be able to put the ball on a dime, and Brennan can do just that.
He's a top ten quarterback no doubt, but obviously the system is a big part of why he's putting up crazy numbers. I mean, you can't do that when you run as much as you pass ya know.
I'm kind of perplexed as to why you guys are debating this though. He's more talented than your average "system quarterback' but some just want to paint him with the same brush as Chang. That's cool and all, but honestly, he's better than Chang. No need to beat a dead horse saying he's a "system quarterback' ad nauseium. Bring more facts to the table than that gentlemen.

Its not the numbers that makes him a good player its the fact that hes a highly talented QB.. I mean this year alone he held Hawaii within just 8 points of beating Alabama who is a very celebrated SEC team, Within 7 points of beating the #13 team in the nation, and scored over 5TDs against a team that used to tear through Hawaii on a constant basis... against the same coach that beat Hawaii 70-14 2 years ago he beat them 68-37

Are you people out of your ******** minds!? Auburn? They're a 10-2 type team this year. National Title Game: USC vs Ohio State. Yes I'm going out on a limb with USC, but they have the talent to reload, and only really face two really tough games with ND (at home) and Cal. They're good enough to beat both, especally facing ND late in the year so that the offense has time to gel. That's my pick. Yeah, how bout those picks guys?

Notre Dame 28 Iowa 24 Heisman: Brady Quinn Iowa WILL beat Ohio State, Penn State, and Michigan State. Michigan is a toss up. You may be like what!?!?! now, but just wait. Ohio State will flop. I jumped on these picks then, and I am jumping on them now. Those two posts were the whole reason I bookmarked this thread.
