I'm going to post my "Sure Picks" each week for those interested. I'm not a big gambler, but it makes pick'ems that more interesting. I usually play $10-20/game and no more than $50/week. Through week 1 I'm 4 for 4 picking USC to beat the spread, USC to win, Irish to win, and Miami to beat the spread at half time.
Here are my week 2 Sure Picks using Tuesday's line:
Auburn to beat 20 point spread over Miss St. Auburn can easily put 30 on the board (they put 30 on WSU) and I don't see MSU scoring more than a 10 points. That undefeated Auburn season with no national title means Tommy will not hesitate running up the score.
Georgia to beat 3 point spread over South Carolina. In my mind, this is the easiest pick of the week if the line holds.
Oregon to beat 5 point spread over Fresno State. Second easiest pick. Oregon is underrated and will give USC its only challenge in the Pac 10.
Note all this weeks picks are for visiting teams, but these venues won't pose a huge home field advantage unlike the texas/OSU or PSU/Irish games (I'm staying away from these). I'm also listing just spreads, but I will hedge with a few "to wins" this week. I will post my final sheet, but I will likely play these picks listed above.

I want to note that Big Ten World is not responsable with what you do with the information he is giving you. You can lose money if you bet, so don't blame Big Ten World if this happens.
Oh and I like your picks. I personally don't see MSU scoring a point, giving Auburn a 31-0 win, though a 24-0 win wouldn't be shocking either. Auburn will cover.
UGA could very well cover with ease but there is uncertainty on both sides of things. What kind of offense does USC really have and how does Joe T. handle the pressure of an SEC game for UGA. I do think that UGA wins by 10 or so.
Any over/unders up yet that I can take a gander at, I'm generally better at that than actually picking a game.

It's basically the combined score of the two teams. If you think the teams score more, then you bet over and if you think it's going to be a low scoring game, you go under.
For example,
Say the Alabama/Texas game has an over under of 78 1/2. Since that seems a little high, you'd take the under, since both teams probably won't combine for 78 points.

Thanks for the disclaimer Bama, I should have put that in there. The over/under isn't out yet, only ful game spreads.

I went 3-for-3 this week with my sure picks and am now 7-0 on the season. I've already doubled my money.

Yea, Big Ten, I used your Georgia, and Oregon pick and it was tight. Oregon barely pulled theres out, but im loving there coach for that fake FG.
Anyways, I won mony on the Georgia, Oregon, Ohio State, and Notre Dame game...

I'm 7-0 thru week 2 and looking forward to all the big match-ups this weekend. Here is my week 3 sheet. I'm playing the spread in all four cases.
Boise St to beat Wyoming by more than 7. After what they did to Oregon State last week I'm a believer.
LSU a 3 point underdog at Auburn. Ok, this is my least sure pick. But, LSU went on the road last week and ripped Arizona. I usually stay away from these and it would probably be safer to play the half.
Fresno State to beat Washington by more than 7. There is minimal home field advantage and the Bull Dogs were tough last week against Oregon. They will seek revenge against to Pac 10 this week.
Notre Dame to cover 6 points over Michigan. I hate to admit this as safe. It's more to make me feel better if Michigan loses. Of, if Michigan loses but Notre Dame doesn't cover I'll be in a foul mood the rest of the week.

LSU was at home last week Big Ten, that much I am certain of. I think LSU will win the game straight up, Auburn is slightly overrated and LSU is probably as good or better than they were in 2003. I'd take LSU in that one, even with not going on the road yet.
Other than that, I agree with you picks overall, though Michigan could make the ND game interesting if they play tough defense.

What do you guys think about the Michigan State/Pittsburgh game. Pitt is favored by 3 points, and I think that State could win this one. Thoughts?

Ok, so I placed 4 bets so far this weekend. Im kinda on BigTens bandwagon so here they are...

I bet on Boise State to cover spread against Whyoming...
I bet on LSU to beat Auburn...
I bet on Saints to cover 3 point spread against Packers...

You're right about LSU playing Arizona at home, but I still pick them to cover the spread.
I thought about the MSU/Pitt game, but Pitt has looked really good thus far. The Spartans are a better team on paper IMHO, but they've been really streaky in their wins from what I saw.

There's no doubt it's going to be a defensive struggle. LSU has a fantastic defense and Auburn does too. I think the team that wins is going to need around 17 points to do it, but that's easier said than done. I really can't wait for that game, probably the biggest game of Saturday for me.
I wouldn't bet on this game though, way too many unknowns on both sides, considering the competition they've seen.

Rough week 3 going 0-3 and one push making me 7-3-1 on the year. For this week I chose the following safe picks:
Boston College to win over NC St Notre Dame to win over Michigan St Minnesota to win over Purdue
Alabama (2 point underdog) to beat the spread against Arkansas

I like all of those, though I'm still a little worried about the ND game due to the past 8 years or so. Notre Dame probably goes out with revenge on the mind though, and will roll.
I can't figure out the Bama/Akry game for the life of me. Both teams have looked pretty rough over the first three games, only Alabama has had one game were they looked really good and it was against ULM. I think Bama wins by three, or I should say hope. It'll be a good birthday present at least.

This week moved me to 9-5-1. How could BC give the game away like that? But, that's ok as I was lucky that Notre Dame pulled the miracle shortly after and I had doubled up on that game. The Bama 1 point loss was a little close for comfort, but I'll take it. More to come later in the week.
