With a nice 38-23 win over Pitt yesterday, I am likin my Spartans this year. I try to remain calm though with the 4-0 start and 1-6 finish last year. I think these guys are hungry and I wish they could get more recognition then they do. Not as a good team or elite team, but a decent team. For ex. beating ND at their place last year. Beating Minny and Wisconsin in the same year.
Anyways.. im getting off topic. Not that any of you care about MSU but they better get some recognition if they win some of these games coming up. After a solid 3 games, we have 3 ranked opponents coming up and Illinois. That is probably one of the hardest streches for a team in the NCAA this year, prolly not the toughest but definitely difficult. I hope they can beat Illinois and steal one of those games. If we do, we should finally start seeing some recognition.
Notre Dame Illinois @michigan Ohio State
I also am sick of hearing about guys like Brady Quinn and Troy Smith and Brian Brohm all the time. What about Stanton? I know those other guys are good but don't you think he could get noticed a little more? I know this is my favorite team and all but 60% completion last year and is a great rusher and passer. No offense to Brady Quinn, but I think Stanton will be the better NFL Qb.
Anyways... does anyone else think this team is a huge sleeper if they can play as well as they have in the past all year instead of the first 4 weeks? Or even just Stanton?

Quinn plays against college players in an NFL offense. I think he's got the head start, but then again, he won't be playing against top-flight competition week in and week out. Not to discredit MSU or anything.
Playing badly against Idaho doesn't help. I think a win over Notre Dame will definitely help, but sustaining that success will be key. Illinois should be a pushover. The game at Michigan will probably be the biggest on the schedule.
