Very improtant game and I'm anxious to see how they respond. They may not win, but Gameday made some good points about why this program struggles.
1) We are surrounded by OSU, UM, and ND. We get the 4th best talent usually and we have to play those teams every year.
2) We keep firing and hiring coaches. That doesn't work well. Smith is the best coach we can probably get and he is a good coach. He's not in the top 15 in wins for nothing. I think he needs a little more time with a program that is not going to heal overnight. This is a tough job and I think he may be able to turn this into something in couple years.
I know I said I hate Smith but those points are good points and made me open my eyes to the situation. I think they will lose to Michigan but they will make it a game with an MSU vs the world attitude. They got nothing to lose and they will let it all hang out. If they lose again today, watch out OSU.
