I love the fact Louisville has a chance to play for the National title and face Michigan (NOT OHIO STATE) in Arizona. The Big East is a rising conference. USF, Cincinatti, West Virginia, and Louisville can hold there own- those are the cream of the crops. I think Louisville is rated high for a reason- they're undefeated including a win against Miami and of course West Virginia. Brian Brohm is a first round NFL quarterback and they have a nice wideout corps topped by Mario Urruta. Imagine if Michael Bush was still playing. What Im saying is Louisville has a great chance to make an impact in the BCS and believe they can beat Michigan and win the National Title. The Big East is already good in basketball but in a few years they're going to have some football powerhouses. After beating Rutgers (yes, they're going to win) and whoever they have left, Louisville's BCS percentage is going to increase. We can wish for a playoff system all we want but in reality it wont happen for another two years or so going to win huh?

oh and by the way...If Rutgers wins out, and beats West Virginia, and maybe some other teams above them lose....they have a chance at the NC. Even if they lose to WVU I think they still maybe be able to secure an at large for a BCS bowl.

I mean West Virginia is going to kill em unless the Knights pull out a George Mason type upset. What? Louisville beats WVU, Rutgers beats Louisville and Rutgers beating WVU is a "George Mason type upset"? I know it's in Morgantown, but this year's RU team has earned more respect than that. Rutgers showed a lot of speed on defense in the Louisville game and West Virginia is not a threat to beat you through the air, 200+ yards against Louisville not withstanding. A lot of fast defensive players crowding the box is not a bad approach against that one dimensional, two player offense the Mountaineers employ. On defense, West Virginia never even slowed down Louisville, so Rutgers should move the ball and put up points. I'm not saying I think Rutgers will definitely win, but they are better than you're suggesting. That said, even an undefeated RU team isn't worthy of NC discussion, you're right about that. They need to build on this, continue improving and, I think, will have to prove they can win without Ray Rice after next year. If in '08 they have a couple 10 win seasons under their belt and are having another undefeated run, then we'll talk.

Yeah, they lost to Illinois. EXACTLY. That's why beating Pitt meant so much. Did I ever mention that they beat Illinois? No. Wow relax there bud. You not getting the point. You were talking about teams they played and how the Spartans beat the big, tough Pitt team but didn't include the Illini team they played as well and won quite handily, that your team got whipped by...a very poor Illini team at that. Got whipped by? Okay since when is 3 points a whiping?

Since that win is 1 of 2 wins for the Illini and the first Big Ten win in two years. Plus the fact that the Illini were 26..yes that's right 26-point underdogs.

Well when I look at Rutgers, I always see them as an underdog with one shining star(Ray Rice). Seeing them rise in the rankings to the top 10 is weird in my mind. I dont see how they are going to stop Pat White and Steve Slaton-the two most dangerous talents in the game right now.....
Oh since Uof L loss, I am still going to say Michigan will beat Ohio State and contend for the National title.

haha whatever Spartan..you seem to be getting angry so I'll just stop.
As for White and Slaton being the most dangerous talents in the game right now..I beg to differ. If you're gonna argue that the Big East is weak you can't then go and say that a Big East team has the two most dangerous talents in the game. Troy Smith-Ted Ginn is a little more threatening on the offensive side of the ball than those two, don't you think? Then throw in Gonzo and Pittman and you've got your hands full...and I hate the Buckeyes.

still, 3 points, yes 3 points, not exactly a whipping. It is when you were down 18 to begin with.

Rutgers beating West Virginia wouldn't be George Mason-esque. It'd barely be an upset.

Rutgers beating West Virginia wouldn't be George Mason-esque. It'd barely be an upset. I'd still be surprised if they did though, especially since they have to go on the road to do it. If it was at Rutgers, then I would take them. Heck, they could lose to USF or Pitt in between the WVU game. It's likely not to happen, however, but stranger things have happened. Like Rutgers starting 9-0.

Ok so it may not be a George Mason type whatever but I am going to say right now RUTGERS WILL NOT BEAT WEST VIRGINIA. I just cant seem them as anything else but an underdog and a cinderella

Go Gators!
I want to see Auburn back in the SEC championship game.
But even after that win or lose many are projecting the winner to play in the Nat. Title while the loser goes to the Orange Bowl.
I have tickets to the Orange Bowl and always have for the past 5 years. If an SEC goes to play the ACC's bid I will go. But if a Big East team goes then no way am I going.
Regard less I will get to see the Gators in any bowl game because I know some people that I played with, that play.

Florida is such an interesting team this year. I just don't think they are that good, yet they keep on beating people. I do think they beat anybody but maybe LSU in the SEC Title game and if they do that, they ought to make the MNC game. That would be something huh, Florida would have a chance to win a basketball and football championship in the same year.

technically...its not the same academic year. Yeah, yeah. They still could do it in the same academic year, just looking at who the basketball team is bringing back.

Yeah, im actually not a basketball fan of the Gators (MD Terps) but they do have a very good team as well. Anyway, I understand what your saying Jake and I respond to that by saying I honestly dont think we've even played near our best game this season.
Funny, im saying that about a team where we're this far into the season and has NC consideration, but I honestly believe that. Look at our special teams for instance. Hetland is 2-8 on the year with both of them being 20+ yard FGs. This makes us one of the worst teams in the nation in field goal kicking. I'll remind you that Hetland was 13-16 last season.
Eric Wilbur who has been a great punter for us in a past has been far from consistant. Lately, its been either a deep boot or a shanked kick. Not to mention what probably cost us the game against Auburn with him dropping the snap then deciding to try and kick the ball away with his opposite foot in front of 5 defenders.
Chris Leak had thrown just 29 interceptions in almost three full seasons, this season he's thrown 10 after only throwing 6 a year ago. Throwing atleast one INT in every game except the Alabama one.
Last but not least would be penalties. We have been one of the most penalized teams in college football all year, and im not for certain if we still are or not. Thats something I wouldnt have expected out of an Urban Meyer football team.
Basically what im saying could mean two things. Either we keep playing to this kind of standard and eventually fall in one of these games, or sneak past in them all, but fall in the NC game. Or finally play the way we could play and get ourselves the SEC Champs and possibly Nat. Champs.

That would be something huh, Florida would have a chance to win a basketball and football championship in the same year. MNC is in January of 2007, so it isnt the same academic year or actual year.
