Michigan remains #2 in the BCS this week.
Not a bad sign, but they'll still need a little help most likely.

That definitely changes when the Trojans beat ND next week. The Irish haven't played an opponent with a winning record since Michigan. THe Trojan loss to Org St woke them up. The polls won't compare Michigan's loss to USC's, they will vote against a rematch.

With .007 seperating Michigan and USC, a victory over Notre Dame could put USC over them, just like Big Ten World said.

Resize that down to 100 x 100 for the avatar. That's all I'm going to ask you to do. Oh well that and have written below it that OSU is the best team in the nation. That's not bad. I would have done worse, but I don't have photoshop and I am quite lazy as you have seen. I want it on until next monday night.

Actually Big Ten, dont even worry about the "Go Seminoles" part. Doesnt matter what we do obviously we're never getting to that #2 spot. Even if USC loses Notre Dame will just jump us, and even if we win the SEC they wont move us into the NC.
*Ends rant of an angry Gators fan
Michigan-Ohio State would be a much better championship than USC-Ohio State. I mean who in the hell wants to see USC in it again and especially since I dont think their nowhere close to being able to beat Ohio State.

Well we shared a little pain this weekend, so I figured I'd ought to be sporting and make it tasteful. This thing with Florida has me a bit pissed as well. I'm not saying I think they'd win the MNC against either Michigan or Ohio State, but theoretically going 12-1 in the SEC is no small feat. I agree that'd I'd rather see a rematch a la 1996 than see USC or ND get to the MNC.

I too, want a rematch. No one else really deserves to be in the NC game.

I guess since I'm the lone Buckeye fan left on this forum, I'm the only one opposed to a rematch?
Seriously folks, we have earned the right not to have to play Michigan again.

No you havent. The National Title game should be between the two best teams in the country. Clearly these two are.

You would feel the same way if it was your favorite team.
It would be pointless. If Michigan won, it would just be that they were fortunate enough to win the second game instead of the first.
The only reason that I would be in favor of a rematch would be to beat the crap out of Mike Hart.

Mike Hart is a bulldozer and thoroughly embarassed the OSU defense on a number of occasions. I say on a neutral field, Michigan wins. Again, you're scared of the thought of Henne, Hart and co. coming at you again.
I agreed with someone who said Michigan doesn't deserve to play for the NC because they didn't win their own conference. While I agree in a sense, Michigan is the second best team in the nation. They are more than deserving of going to Tempe for a rematch. That's if Notre Dame holds up it's end and beats USC.

Let's flip the scenario.
Hypothetically, do you want your #1, 12-0 Wolverines to play a #2, 11-1 Buckeye squad that you just beat?
Didn't think so. This is largely the reason for my arrogance in this thread, which I apoligize for.
I am scared of Hart. Anyone in the country would be. But I am not scared of Chad Henne. The man quite simply cannot lead the Michigan offense without Hart having success. He is earning a reputation as a big game loser, at least in my book.
And about Hart embarrassing our defense, how about Pittman, Wells, and company embarrassing Michigan's over-hyped run defense? How about Troy Smith throwing for 316 yards?

If they're the two best teams in the nation...
Henne isn't a big game loser, and the Michigan run defense IS better than that. I've been stuck watching it all year.

I think the Notre Dame game was huge for him, but he is 0-2 in bowl games, 0-3 against Ohio State. And when it comes to these two teams, when you lose to the other, you are labeled a big game loser.
Yes, it IS better than that. Against the other 11 teams on their schedule. DB, when it comes to this rivalry, statistics from the rest of the season do not matter.

Last time I checked, Henne wasn't there to plug the monstorous gaps in our D-line during those two long runs. He's been tremendous this year and was absolutely great during the OSU game. He and Hart helped put up 39 points on the #1 defense in the nation in terms of points per game allowed. I'd say he helped do the job.
