The college I attend, Northwest Missouri State, is in the "Elite Eight" of the Division II playoffs this weekend, facing another undefeated team in Chadron State, out of western Nebraska. I swear, this little town swells up come playoff time. It's a small D-I atmosphere during the big games.
Both teams are 12-0.

Nice. My school, East Stroudsburg lost in the first or second round last season. My quarterback, Jimmy Terwilliger, won the Harlon Hill last season and may just do it again this year. He owns the majority of the quarterback records in DII football...pretty damn good but for whatever reason he doesn't want to even try for the pros.
Ever see Tuskegee's jerseys...gross.

He'll get killed in the NFL. Isn't he like 5'11 and 180? (Terwilliger I mean)

Hi, Mr. Doug Flutie!
Also, pro just isn't NFL. He could play in Canada, Europe, semi-pro stuff in the US, ect.

Ah, good point.
From the sheer #'s he puts up, I think he could be successful in those leagues.

I go to Grand Valley State, and they're in that, too. I really don't pay any attention to them, though, and I'm sure as hell not going to the game on Saturday since it's supposed to snow.

Well, here's to meeting you in the title game again. I go to the school that played you guys in the title game last year.

Snow! Football games in snow are the effin best. I remember we played one wayyyyyy back in Pee Wees, I loved it. Yeah, to play in. Watching a game when it's snowing is a whole different story. I guess the team that GVSU is playing (one of the Dakotas, can't remmeber which one) is #8 so it might be a good game. I've only been to one game, mainly because it hardly seems worth the time. They blow out everyone they play, and the student section is practically empty after halftime. The way I see it, here (and probably most other schools) football games are an excuse to drink on campus, and a lot of people take full advantage of that.

Well, heading into the fourth quarter, Capital is deadlocked with Mount Union 7-7 on Mount's home field. We just stuffed one of the best tailbacks in Division III, Nate Kmic, on a fourth down try on the half yard line, and we have a chance of pulling off the biggest upset in Program History in Alliance (Mount's location).
Edit: Now, with 11 minutes to go, it's 10-7 Mount. Our defense is playing their asses off, as they just stuffed Mount again. D-III punters aren't very good, and ours isn't that special. We would've beaten Mount last year if not for him. But, he only got it out to the 20 yard line, so Mount only had twenty yards to go for a touchdown. They only got to the six, before our defense stopped them in their tracks. We now will have to come up big on this next drive.

Well, we fell just short 17-14. But, from the sound of the game, it appears as though the referees weren't going to cut Capital any slack.
This makes two years in a row that Mount has ended our year. In the past two seasons, we are 0-4 against Mount Union. And 22-1 against the rest of the country.
We will lose one of the most accomplished passers in Divison III, in Cap quarterback Rocky Pentello. Pentello has passed for over 12,500 yards in his career, and has led this program. We were 18-22 in the four years before he came here, and since he took over the reigns at quarterback, we have gone 36-9. But, he is 0-6 against Mount. But, on the other hand, who does beat Mount Union?

man Pitt State (who I used to have a dynasty with and have become on of my favorite teams) got robbed of a playoff spot. They were what 15th in the nation or something, they have one of the best RBs in history in Germaine Race and one of the best offenses in the nation. I just dont get it.

Pitt State happened to be stuck in the toughest region in D-II. They had a top five offense, but their defense was horrible. Probably the seventh ranked team in the region, and the top six made it to the D-2 playoffs.
By the way, we won 28-21 and made the semifinals on Sunday night. We'll be on ESPN2 or ESPNU then.

I'm bringing this back up, but who cares?
We're going to Alabama!
33-3 win over Bloomsburg in the semis at home. I was right under the north goalpost when it came down.
