Should you need 7 wins to be bowl-eligible? I think so, now that the schedule is 12 games. 6-6 teams are getting in, when Miami and FSU don't really deserve too.
Your opinions?

My team went 6-6 Bstn, which makes my opinion moot this year.
Honestly though, I do think you need a winning record to make a bowl game, but at the same time, we have so many bowls that you almost need some of those 6-6 teams to make it work.

Bowls outside of the championship don't matter anymore anyway.
Though if the standard is 6-6, those 6 wins should at least have to be against 1-A teams.

In my UCONN dynasty a 2-10 team made it over me, and I was 6-6.
That doesn't really have anything to do with this, but I do have an opinion. Bowls are flat out stupid. They need a playoff, And when I say playoff I mean like 32+ teams. If D1AA does it then 1A can too.
Make the season shorter if you have to, but a team like Boise St. should at least get a chance. They went undefeated. You can't do anything more than that.
Some of you might have your own opinion, and I don't play football so I wouldn't really know, but do football players really get beat up that bad in a game?? A few extra weeks in the season shouldn't hurt anyone, and it would actually let the NC be decided on the field, not by a computer.

32 teams? That's horrible. What..4 additional games? After just expanding the length?
No way, no when, no how.
Maybe 8 teams. I'd rather see 4 than what their doing now.
And this isn't about Championship implications, it's about regular bowl games. Teams at .500 shouldn't be able to play in the post season.

8 team playoff. Top 8 teams in the BCS with standard seeding.

Oh my bad for ranting on the wrong subject. But i agree with you Bstn. Teams that go .500 should not play bowl games. 6-6 is just not good. But i don't know if you can call it the "postseason"

Actually, a 32 team tournament would result in one LESS postseason game being played then there is now.

32 team playoff
I agree with TJ if 1-AA (now division 1) can do it so can 1-A

With the kind of schedule Boise State plays I think about 50% of the nation could go 12-0....seriously, Oregon State and Hawaii aren't that great of competition....I wouldn't even give them a BCS game if it were up to me

32 Bowl games, 64 teams, that is over half the amount of Division 1-A teams total. If anything should be changed, it should be the amount of bowl and addition of a playoff system instead of the BCS bowl games. A 12-team playoff system and around 25 bowl games I personally think would work. Then you would almost have to be a team with a winning record.

A playoffs system would be killer on the players mentally and physically. Back to the original question, I don't like .500 teams being in bowl games, but like bama said there are alot of bowls, and they need teams to play in them. I say fill out the bowls with as many teams with winning records as possible, then if you need to use 6-6 teams. Also its not all about records, but also, and probably more about money. A 6-6 Miami or FSU team is going to bring for fans than an 8-4, 9-3, etc. San Jose St. team.

Every team 6-6 and up should be in a bowl game. Even if they played five Division 1 teams.

A .500 winning percentage shouldn't be rewarded.

What if a team like Temple went 6-6 this past season (hypothetically of course), and they get a bowl? So they don't deserve it, even though they improved six games over the last season? That's my only argument for it.
Other than that, there are too many bowls.

I still don't think Temple should get a bowl if they did go 6-6. Their not deserving. Last season shouldn't equal this season in terms of all that.
