Don't bring that crap up again.
It's a different team every year.
Anyone can win anywhere.
UCLA can win against USC.
Your argument is quickly becoming dumber and dumber.

Which is why Michigan had the ability to win that game. And why a neutral field wouldn't make a difference.

This thread is pointless.
Margin of victory is not that big of a deal. You have to consider how Florida had to come to play almost every week. Michigan had a lost more crappy teams on their schedule and could coast on some weeks. Florida never got that luxery. Also another interesting note, Florida lost to Auburn after they beat LSU. Do you know what the record is of teams comg off a game against LSU this year? If you guessed 2-10, you are right. That point is kind of useless, but considering the defenses Florida saw before playing Auburn (3 of the 4 are Top 25 defenses), you can see that they were a beat up ballclub. Michigan didn't have that hanging over their heads coming up against Ohio State after playing Indiana and Ball State the two weeks before.
Ask Ohio State in 2002, margin of victory means little as long as you win.

You know, I love how if Ohio State had lost, there wouldn't have been any talk of a rematch.
Also, the game is over. Ohio State and Michigan fans have pretty much moved on from it, and we are waiting until next year. About 350 days if my math is correct.
Do you see me, Maize, Chis, Big Ten World, or any other Buckeye/Michigan fan bitching about this? No.
So just drop it, and enjoy your bowl games.

Honestly, I think Urban Meyer is a bigger crybaby than he is. When Florida's not in the NC, he's crying for a playoff. Now you're not hearing any of it. Totally agree DB, Lloyd isn't a baby he was just sticking up for his program.

Once I saw this thread name I knew it was gonna be about Lloyd Carr and some Anti-Michigan person was gonna have made it. I was right.

The fact of the matter is that as an MSU backer, he's just looking for a chance to bitch and moan about Michigan. He's angry because his team basically imploded this year.
On the issue of Lloyd Carr being a crybaby? Not at all. He stood up for his program, plain and simple. Even as a Michigan fan, I think Florida deserves the shot. Going through the SEC with just 1 loss is a helluva thing to do. Although, I do agree that if you put Michigan on a neutral field with OSU, things would be different. Fact of the matter is that either team deserved to play and there really wasn't a "wrong" choice.
So Spartan, you need to quit your whining and complaining about the Wolverines. Your facts claiming that Michigan isn't as good as advertised can be made against OSU in almost every sense. I think the two best teams in the nation will play for the title, although it's more like 2a and 2b with Florida and Michigan.

If Michigan beats OSU, would you be making this same argument for the Buckeyes? If it was the same 3 point game, I sure as hell would.

Even if Michigan won, I wouldn't want to see a rematch. In my opinion, I saw this game, and don't want to see it again. It wouldn't be fair to the Wolverines either had they won.
And Fette, yes I do hate Michigan with a deep passion. But I did not make this thread purely out of hate. Lloyd Carr basically said that Urban Meyer cheated to get into the national championship by his remarks.
And the talk of Meyer wanting a playoff and stopping after he was in, was complete BS. In his interview he still said they need a playoff system.
I'm not attacking Lloyd purely out of hate for Michigan, trust me, I would have done that a long damn time ago.
I just thought that he was the one with the inappropriate comment at the end of the day.
That is all I have to say and I apologize to those who I offended in this thread.

This whole mess aside, Florida-OSU was the right choice in my mind. Everyone that didn't get in is going to be bitter about the situation, and they still have valid reasons to be so. But Lloyd Carr just needs to make sure his team is prepared for a very tough USC team, because if he loses that game, then it makes everything he said look worse.

With everything aside.... The big deal is the fact that the computers and voters beleived Michigan was a better football team than Florida all season. Then, Urban Meyer complains, people talk, and Michigan doesn't play for two weeks and the same people who beleived Michigan was the better team, changed there mind. The championship game contenders shouldnt be decided by a change of heart.
Lloyd Carr is simply stating that Michigans worse mistake late in the season, is not playing since November 18th. They were forgoten, while Florida beat a bad FSU team by 7 and Arkansas by 10. It's fair to say, the voters choose Florida because they forgot about Michigan.
I agree Florida deserved the shot at the title, but I also agree that Urban Meyers politics and Michigan not playing lost Michigan the title chance and that's rediculous.
If you look at it, Michigan had a chance to justify there pressance with a win over Ohio State, and they didnt. That, moreso than anything Florida or the BCS comittee did, lost them the title oppertunity.

This is just another example of why we need a playoff system.
Michigan's players had their lives made horrible, moreso than any other team if you have read anything about their spring and summer practices, for a year, to achieve a dream that they will never get the chance to have. Because of the BCS.
Edit: I've got a research paper on the BCS that I typed up last year, got a 98 on it, I'm going to try and find it.

Let me ask you all this...
If your team was in Florida's shoes... would you sit back and watch the rematch?

I don't really think it has anything to do with the teams, just the way that it happened.
I mean, seriously, this has been one of the strangest end of season time periods in recent memory.

No one is saying Florida is undeserving, because they do deserve to play for it. But I think that Michigan was more deserving to play in it. Rematch or not, that game would have the two best teams in the nation.

But what most people are saying, is that the home field advantage won Ohio State the ball game. Everyone is saying, Michigan would win on a neutral field and no one knows that.

So you deny them the chance? The re-match and Michigan not playing for 2 weeks is the only way I see voters picking Florida, and it's crap. Michigan never lost to a team under their ranking, and that should get them in.
