Troy Smith lost the Maxwell award to frigging Brady Quinn.
I know the dude is going to win the Heisman to make up for it, but this is BS.
Another example of the media overhyping and overrating Notre Dame.

Who cares about the Maxwell? Troy will win the Heisman, even though I question weither McFadden is better. I still think he wins the Heisman pretty easy.

The same can be said that Poz won the Bednarik, but not the Butkus. If you are the best defensive player, how can you not be the best linebacker. And Ole Miss's record was...? Poz will still get his dues in the NFL.

Brady put up more passing yards, barely just a lower passing completion percentage, which isn't always Quinn's fault, longer average yards per pass, more touchdowns, and just as many interceptions as Troy Smith put up. In my opinion, Brady deserved it. People just look at Notre Dame's schedule, and not their stats.

ok lets face it, who is the better player? It's Quinn seriously. Although I do agree that Smith should win the Heisman. However, the Maxwell is not the same thing as the Heisman. The Heisman takes into account more how the team did and stuff like that where as the Maxwell is more about who was the better player that year.
Also, I am pretty sure that Quinn will not only be picked higher than Smith in the draft, he will probably have the better pro career if put in the right situation.

Not a lot of Heisman winners get the Maxwell.
Ex. Reggie Bush, Vince Young, but that may have been for the talent in that year.

Isn't Smith something like 26-2 career as a starter? Didn't Notre Dame lose like..twice this year?
Seeing as how Notre Dame is a national contender every year, apparently, I think you can take your pick.

Yea Smith is 26-2 but that can be contributed to the entire team. A lot of the time the reason Notre Dame wins is simply because of Quinn and nothing else. You never hear much about how great the entire offense or defense is, just Quinn.

I really don't think theres a media person who doesn't think Notre Dame is crap when they are. WHo'd they beat this year that's worth it?

Low blow... but true. Navy, Georgia Tech, Penn State, and Purdue are all bowl bound but only Ga Tech was ranked when they played against them (I think, but not positive on that...)
