In defense of Brady Quinn, who I personaly think could have plaed better all year, Troy Smth has a championship team on his back. Better line, receivers and defense helps win more games. If Ohio State had 2 losses and Notre Dame didnt, Brady Quinn would win the heisman. There #'s are the same, but Troy has the better team. Quinn is the better QB and Smith wins the heisman.
I wana see you guys defending Troy Smith when he bombs in the pros lol

Bstn, you're right they really didn't anyone very good. And the teams that were good beat them soundly... I'm sure glad they beat Army in the close one..... that game scared me before the season started. *sarcasm* Sorry Usma. Ask the Eh and Emmers how scary good we are if we show up. But yeah, Notre Dame sucks, and the Maxwell means nothing. And I thought this topic would be about the Troy Trojans of the Sun Belt for some reason.

Uh, N2s, this is the college awards, it doesn't matter how he does in the pros.
But, I will defend the honor of every Buckeye not named Maurice Clarett to my grave.

There is no reason Smith shouldn't win the Heisman. None. He played great.
But Quinn is also deserving. He did put up almost identical numbers. Personally I think Smith should get it, for the undefeated season, and the win over Michigan.
But if Quinn wins, I wouldn't argue, even though I hate him. I love his sister though.

God, about the thousandth time I've had to answer this question.
I know that he won us a national champion. I just won't jump in and defend him to all of the shots he's taking.

Low blow... but true. Navy, Georgia Tech, Penn State, and Purdue are all bowl bound but only Ga Tech was ranked when they played against them (I think, but not positive on that...) Navy is 9-3 against a ridiculously lame schedule weaker that NDs, Penn St. and Purdue are average at best, GT is terrible, and their best win is probably the squeaker against UCLA thanks to their upset over USC.

The Maxwell seems like just a contradiction to the Heisman. I think they need to get rid of it, personally, because whoever wins the Maxwell usually is just a top 5 guy in the Heisman, not the winner.
And yeah, no one on Notre Dame deserved any kind of award this year.

Smith would have put up probably 6 more TD's had he played Army, Navy, and Air Force....Smith played a much tougher schedule....there is no contest...Smith is the best QB, but I still hope McFadden wins it
