This is not shocking. That Springdale Gang was becoming a cancer. Malzahn was a total disaster. We saw his offense was a joke against USC that first game of the year. Houston Nutt has egg on his face, and Arkansas just can't get success going.

Mustain was 8-0 starting... he should still be a great pick-up where ever he'll end up...

Mustain was 8-0 starting... he should still be a great pick-up where ever he'll end up... On average in those games, he went 7/14 and ended the season with 10 TDs and 9 Ints I think. They won all those games, thanks to their running game. This story has almost been a circus. Coming into either the bowl game or the SEC championship, the parents of the boys from Springdale High went to Houston Nutt to complain about their boys "not getting their numbers." Then ole Guz Malzahn leaves, and probably thankful for Arkansas, this bunch gets the hell out of dodge. Mustain could be a very good quarterback, but he needs to get somewhere far away from his former HS coach, and especially his momma. You want to talk about one woman who could single handily ruin her son's career, it is Mama Mustain.

I had read somewhere that Razorback alumni felt that the Malzahn offense wouldn't work in the SEC. If that's the case, did they ever watch Florida play? I believe that Malzahn's offense is somewhat similar to Meyer's down there.
Good thing they had McFadden, or they might have been in some serious trouble this season.

I was reading about this on si and they said that Malzahn never actually got to establish his spread, no huddle offense he used in HS. Is this true cause I haven't really seen much of Ark this year so I dont know

When the whole crew gets to Tulsa, I think they will all do very well. (Damian Williams went to USC though) Mustain will do great in the Spread, especially as he gets more playing time and experiance. Arkansas will continue to pound the ball out on the ground, and should look to be good again next year.

I know he's going to Tulsa, but apparently he had listed Oklahoma and Louisville as his other choices.

Probably a good thing for Arky honestly, but no it was never established as the offense for the Piggies.

Anyone remember Ingle Martin? This whole thing reaks of that, a top prospect who never got a chance so he transferred to Furman. He does play on the Packer (I believe) practice squad. This will hurt him, but in a more pass-oriented offense, he may show some value.

Yeah, except Mustain will stay D-1. No way his Mama lets him slip down to 1-AA.

Interesting to see if Houston lets him back immediately. If I was him, I would have the kid sit for a year, redshirt him, then have three full seasons after that to show his worth.

I think he got drafted because he showed disgusting arm strength at the combine. I don't remember, but some Furman QB had something notable happen this past combine. Maybe it was his Wonderlic score.

In order to transfer, you must be enrolled at the university you are transferring from. You can't take a semester off and transfer to a different school for athletic reasons.

If Mustain was red-shirted, he would transfer.
There's no way his Mama would let him sit for a year.
