Okay, so I started a cupcake dynasty on NCAA 07 PS2 to keep me occupied until Christmas when I'll get NCAA 08 and a 360.
I finish the season 0-12 and 0-7 in the Big East.
I finally go to budgets and figure that I don't need much discipline since I have a bunch of good kids with the whole cupcake thing. So, I decided to boost training and recruiting as follows....
Recruiting- 45% Training- 45% Discipline- 10%
So I go to recruiting thinking I will have a lot of points to spend but when I get there I have only 20 something points per week. I thought maybe it was just a glitch or something so I just quit and re-loaded the dynasty. Once again I only have 20 points per week.
Not only that, but hardly any of my players benefited from the massive training budget I had. A lot of players had 0's for improvement.
My question is, is this just because I'm a cupcake and they make it harder to move up in the ranks? Or is it just something that's messing up for me?
BTW- I received 4 transfers and guessed maybe they take away points. I don't know. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I think that you don't get as many points since you are a smaller school

That's what i thought too. I guess it's good so I can't succeed too quickly.
Anyone else got any info on this?

Its always been that way. The least amount of wins you have, the least amount of points.

Oh my goodness. How am I supposed to build a program on 20 freakin points?
I even got two years probation. I don't even know what I did. No one had any discipline problems or anything.
Geez, I never thought being a cupcake would be this hard.

Also, go after guys that have you number one by a large margin.

Find one or two states with some quality players that you can recruit the living bajesus out of. That's all the advice I can give.

Adding on to what Usma said, it's helpful to put your school in a recruiting state like Texas, Florida, California, or Ohio.

I might try FL since there usually seems to be good recruits from there and surrounding states like Florida.
But seriously, is there any reason for me getting probation for doing nothing wrong?

I thought maybe that was a joke or something. Didn't know that could happen. Anyways, I have tried a different recruiting system and it actually works.

Okay, well I am making some progress I think.
Season 1- 0-12 Season 2- 0-12 Season 3- 1-11
I know that's a horrible record, but instead of being all D-'s, I have all C's now. Kind of exciting actually knowing that I am actually getting somewhere.
Anyways, how long did it take any of you guys to have your first winning season? I just hope I'm not going to be at 1-11 or 0-12 forever.
Also, I did set my budget to...
60%- Recruiting 30%- Training 10%- Discipline
Then I got more recruiting points, I got like 70 and the last time when I had a recruiting budget of 45, I only got like 20 something. Does this mean my school is getting bigger and I'm going to start getting more points?

IMHO...I would focus more points on training than on Recruiting....just my opinion...
I do a lot of dynastys with cupcakes and build them up...

I haven't really noticed a difference in training.
My guys usually have the same amount of training no matter if I put it at 40 or 30.

Since recruiting points are based on your record why not just put all your points into Training and leave liek 10% for discipline? That way the recruits you do get progress a bunch thanks to tough training? Just a thought....by the way where do I set those %'s? I thought after the season was over they had a place that you had to put them in before you could move on, I can't find that this year on the PS3....
