Sportsbuck. I don't think you could handle our powerhouse Alabama team. Lol. Actually, if we were to play this upcoming season I think it would be a decent game. Especially if we start Star Jackson. All I have to say is watch out, because Alabama is about to become very dangerous in the next couple of seasons.

I know you were kidding about the first part, but you do know we return 18 starters next year, right?

it deosn't matter how many starters you return if the starters suck. You know I'll rebut this. QB Todd Boeckman- Eh suckish at times, but has looked great at times. He got rattled late in the year, but it was his first meaningful playing time since 2003. RB Beanie Wells- Goes without saying WR Brian Robiskie- Future 1st rounder at receiver, best technique of anybody in the country at receiver (His dad is an NFL receiver coach, so it makes sense..) WR Brian Hartline- Talented kid, very good. TE Rory Nicol- Good pass catcher at times, but I've seen a lot better. OL.. Alex Boone- Might be the best tackle in America next year, enough said. Steve Rehring- One of the nation's top 5 guards, needs to cut down on the PF penalties. Ben Person- The worst returning starter. He was the guy on his back on the FG block against LSU, he has a shot to be replaced by a number of guys.. Jim Cordle- The next great Ohio State center, man was fantastic in his first year as a starter. DL.. Cam Heyward- One of the best frosh in the country, and the man phsyically dominated Jake Long. Todd Denlinger- The best DT we've got. Kid missed a lot of time this year with injuries, but when healthy he's one of the best in the conference. Doug Worthington- Average to good, he's fast, but got pushed around too much for my liking. First year as a DT, converted DE. LB.. Laurinaitis- If he comes back, enough said. Marcus Freeman- The most underrated linebacker in the Big Ten. JL gets the credit, but Freeman may be the most physically gifted Buckeye linebacker on the team. He really put it all together in 2007 and should be one of the best in the country in 2008. DB.. Malcolm Jenkins- An All-American, one of the best corners in the country. Donald Washington- All-Big Ten, returning after his first year as a starter. Kurt Coleman- The best safety tOSU has had since Mike Doss.. that is saying something special right there. Anderson Russell- Very good. Came off of major knee surgery and had a solid year. Needs to improve on coverage a little bit, but is All Big-Ten regardless. Not to mention we return our punter and our kicker. So, yeah, that was a stupid as shit statement you made Cooljay, especially considering that in next year's draft, we could have 5 first round picks (Beanie, Robo, Boone, JL, and Jenkins), not to mention around 3-4 other guys that will be drafted. And all of that returning talent plus one of the nation's top recruiting classes..

Yea 5 first round draft picks that don't know how to show up in the big game. Players that get padded stats in all the shitty teams tOSU plays...

Yea 5 first round draft picks that don't know how to show up in the big game. Players that get padded stats in all the shitty teams tOSU plays... Okay, let me make this real simple here. Against LSU.. Boone: Dominated whoever that DE was from LSU. Beanie: Ran right through the vaunted LSU defense with a healthy Glenn Dorsey. Robo: Played decent. JL: He had 18 tackles against LSU, 13 of them solo, which is incredible when you consider how poor our defensive line played. MJ: Played out of position the whole night. Dude is a natural corner and he was playing safety the whole time.. That was stupid as shit logic right there Backstop. We don't play shitty teams. We played a Washington team, at Washington, that looked like it could challenge in the Pac-10 before we beat the shit out of Jake Locker. Hell, the Big Ten was down this year but we still had a winning record in bowl games. We played a Purdue team that was undefeated and ranked in the top 25 when we faced them, played a Wisconsin team that is always tough and ranked in the top 25, and hell, we went into Happy Valley at night under white out conditions and f*cking dominated the Beavers. Not to mention we beat Michigan. I could pull out more examples but I won't for right now. How about the 2006 games against Texas, and Michigan? All of these guys had impacts and great games in those, guess they can't handle the big spotlight. Seriously, think before you type. Does anyone do that around here anymore (myself included)?

Seriously, Ohio State sucks. Yep I said it. Dude, i'm sorry. The Big Ten is weak. The Pac-10 isn't that great. Washington, I mean come on dude. Wisconsin! Stop the ground game and problem solved. Good game with Penn State, but they were not that great this year. Why did you fail to bring up Illinois?
As far as the stats. Wells got one big run. Did nothing second half. LSU's ends are not that great excluding Jackson. 18 tackles, probably because the rest of the team couldn't tackle.

Not to mention we beat Michigan. Only about... 4 of us really care about that game. I doubt Backstop is one of them.

Ohio State does not suck. If we suck, then how come we've gone 33-5 in the past 3 years, huh? How come we've won 3 consecutive conference championships? If you think we suck, I'd hate to see what you think of a team like Alabama. Did you even watch Washington pre-OSU? That team looked like it could compete for a conference title, then we came into their house and knocked the shit out of them. And LOL at your Beanie comment. There is not a person on this site that does not think the guy is one of the best returning backs in the country, and the man still averaged over 4 yards a carry against one of the nation's best defenses, taking away his big run. Seriously, you really have no firm ground to stand on, other than the schedule, this season. And your Laurinaitis argument is pure laughable. "18 tackles, because everyone else couldn't tackle?" Ya do know we had the nation's best defenses statistically, right. The Big Ten is not as weak as you think, and you aren't as smart as I thought. God, it's like listening to Mark May.

Which obviously explains our home and home with Washington State in 01-02, NC State in 03-04 (When they had Rivers and were good), Texas in 05-06, 07-08 with USC, 10-11 with Miami, 12-13 with Cal, 14-15 with VT, and 16-17 with Oklahoma.. not to mention a game with mid-major power TCU in 2009.
I know I'm biased. But your just being ignorant.

I think sportsbuck wins this argument, by actually using stats. Backstop basically said "Alabama is grate LOL and OSU smelzlzlzlz", proceeding to call Sportsbuck biased.

And Ohio State is the greatest football team in the world. You want to talk past and championships. Let me know when you achieve the numbers Alabama has... Uh.. I don't see where I said anything about that. My posts have been talking about the 2007 Buckeyes and past and future schedules. Congratulations to Alabama, they do have 12 national championships, something no one can take away. But tOSU also has won 7 national championships. We've got your number in conference championships. 32 > 25 Hell, we've got your number in Heisman winners, 7 > 0. I could not believe Alabama does not have a Heisman winner.. In terms of college football hall of fame inductees, we've got your number in terms of players, 21 > 16. And if you want to talk about coaches in the hall of fame, we've got your number there as well, 4 > 3. So, in the four main things that you would judge a program on, you have us beat in one category, while we hold the other three. Alabama has such a much better history than Ohio State.. Edit: And hell, if I wanted to throw all-time wins into the argument, we've got your number.. 798 > 787 /Waits for chis to come in and talk about Michigan's history.. lol

I guess I should have identified my sarcasm with a wink. I agree OSU will be sick but unless their the only undefeated team next will NOT get into the MNC

I agree OSU will be sick but unless their the only undefeated team next will NOT get into the MNC I have to agree there, but it will be interesting to see what would happen if we were one of two undefeateds, and then there was a one loss SEC team..

/Waits for chis to come in and talk about Michigan's history.. lol lol nobody's talkin crap about Michigan right now cuz their focused on OSU, plus the fact that Michigan beat Florida and their 7-2 all time vs the SEC in Bowl Games, so they can't really say anything other then 'You can't beat OSU' and 'Haha Appy State'

I'll believe we'll lose when I see it happen, because realistically, I could see us going undefeated next year. Hopefully, we'll get a lot of close games. That was the one thing I noticed in difference between the past two years and the 02 NC. In 2002, we had that mental toughness because every game was close, and we were used to being in those situations.. but in the past two years, when the chips were down, we crumbled.
