Well, I started a Legacy mode with the career option, and I chose the offer to play with New Hampsire Wildcats.
The thing is, I am having a lot of trouble with the recruting feature. I am having trouble getting prospects interested in my school. I finished 2nd in the Cougar Classic, and my record currently stands at 3-2. I was just wandering if any of you had any tips about the recruiting system. My main targets have been 3 star guys.
Also another question was how does this mode progress. I mean do you get more school offers to bigger schools in the future, or am I going to be stuck with the suck team forever?
Thanks, Mc5

Well, of course you'll have trouble I mean, who would want to go to a school like that. (no offense to the school, just talking from a basketball prespective) If you didnt edit your coach's charisma, then it should be C, and thats not really good for getting players. When your person gets better, then you'll get better players. Like my coach, I made his charisma the first priority, so i made it A+ as fast as i could, and i started pulling in 5 stars at Stony Brook. So it depends on the coach's charisma, and the team prestige.

So, this may be a stupid question, but just how will my guy get better?
I just finished a game against Harvard where I put up 59 points to their 29. I play of 6 min halfs, and this is two blowouts in a row for me so my team should be getting reconized.

they get better if your coach has: 1.) High Teaching rating, 2.) High Offense rating, 3.) High Defensive rating Also, it takes time over the season, like if your coach has A+ teaching, then they will improve rapidly, but C+, B-, those take some time. Your players improve slowly, if at all Also, your team will get recgonized if your still undefeated, about halfway through the season. CH has a problem with that though, because once I simmed through a season with Stony Brook to try and get undefeated, I wasn't in the rankings til February, then I went from unranked to ranked 13.

Minor glitch As for getting good players on your team, Chisato is right. Charisma is the way to go with this year’s edition of CH 2k6. Its still hard to get any good players when you start off like any new coach or any low class school and I like that about this game. Over time with some winning records, NCAA appearances and time with a school, the players will come. Teaching improving your players is a different story. I have found many glitches with this one as I have been playing my legacy mode as Stony Brook. Did you know that if you edit your player in Legacy mode, you can't edit the attributes but his 'ability' rating moves to an A after the edit... weird huh? Well, I personally don't mind getting 3 star players until I get to a better school (mid major school will be nice) so until then, I like to make my coach a little more 'well rounded' and maybe focus a little on charisma on the side. |2uff

I just want to know how to get more point towards my coaches abilities, and how would I edit him. I know you start off with like 4 or 5 points, and I went straight to charisma with it as I am starting over. So now my charisma sits at a B-. I just need to know how to get more points towards my coach.
Also is there like a thing where I can choose training, or is it done automatically?
EDIT: Also in one of my first email hint things, they said something about goals. Where would these be located at?
Thanks, Mc5

You get points to improve your coach's ratings by accomplishing various goals, such as signing a world recruit, signing your state's Mr. Basketball, winning 200 career games, etc. You can see the list of goals on the coach profile.

Goals are what make your coach better. One such goal is get 10 wins, or upset the #1 ranked team. When you accomplish a goal, you get one point to upgrade your coach, but maximum, you can only use 5 points per year. You can edit your coach's stats after the season is over, and not before or after. Goals are located when you click on your coach (I don't know if your PS2 or Xbox) then on PS2, you press select and that brings you to your career record so far. After that, either press R2 or L2 and it'll go to your accomplishments, then goals. His potential changes, not ability (unless Xbox is different) Also, that is... err... a great way to get your school good fast if you want to I experimented with that before, Where i used an A+ teaching goal with a player with A potential, he grew 4 overall points during the season, (but he left for the NBA )

Ok, out of all the schools that offer contracts. Which team has the best potential do you think?
I know Ruff went with Stony Brook along with a couple others, but when it comes to this game im more a 3-Point, Medium Range type of guy. I can never seem to get the ball down low at all. So what team would yalll recomend?

Well just a little update to you all. I started a career with a team called VMI (Virginia Military Institute). Anyhow, they are pretty decent team with a couple of big guys and an awesome 3-point shooter. I play with some dude sliders from www.gamefaqs.com, and there are really fair. Anyways I entered in the BCA Invitational to start it off, and who was my first game against, none other than the #20 ranked Charlotte 49ers. Well it was a dead lock game. They quickly jumped out to a 16-3 lead, and somehow I ended up upsetting them for the win. I went on to beat somebody (Blank right now) then beat Alabama State in the Championship game to win the tournament. As far as my recruiting. Nobody (even 3-stars) are showing the slightest interest to me, and im only hoping to grab somebody, but it's just not working out with me recruiting so far. Oh well, carry on...

congrats on the win...
just remember to keep it up and just check out the goals in your coachs profile to see what you need to do to obtain more points after the season is over. Once the season is over, you will have the chance to upgrade your coach!

You get attributes at the end of the season. This might not be the game for you, it takes years and years to get to the good schools. It took 5 years, and 5 national championships for me to get to Utah. With my friend, just simming it took us to 2018 to get to a mid-major...it just depends.

Yea, its cool!
I just beat Army to take my Keydets to a perfect 4-0 start. It's going to be tough though with my next opponent being North Carolina State.
I like the fact that it will take me a while though, because it will last me a while.

It took 5 years, and 5 national championships for me to get to Utah. Wow your game is slow. It only took me 6 years of going 38-0 and winning the national championship every year to get hired by UConn, because Jim Calhoun retired. ;D I got an offer from San Diego State after 3 years and 3 championships because Steve Fisher retired, but I was waiting for the big fish

Just my Michigan dynasty. I'm just getting my coach as good as he can, as fast as he can. And if yall wanna have opinions like Sep, then keep them to yourself.

And if yall wanna have opinions like Sep, then keep them to yourself. Hmm, it was suppose to be more of a joke. No one cares that you dont play for real on a dynasty that isnt even on DC. Everyone does that.

In the Legacy Mode I have, I started out at Portland State (cool logo and unis)...went something like 15-11 my first year, got into the NCAA Tournament by winning the Big Sky Tourney and nearly upset Colorado as a 14 seed in the first round. The second year I went like 21-5 in the regular season (the Big Sky is really a horrible conference, and my recruits helped a lot), but lost in the first round of the Big Sky tourney, and got an 8 seed in the tournament. Won my first ever tournament game, then got killed by Duke. Wonderful. In my third year I ended up getting a 6 seed and again won a first round game, but lost in the second round to BC. Fourth year, I skyrocketed up in the polls and finished the year like 24-2 as the third ranked team, but got a 4 seed, and finally broke through into the Sweet 16. In my fifth year, I won the National Championship as a 3 seed against Utah in one of the weirdest brackets I've ever seen (Final Four of Portland State (3), Indiana (10), Utah (6), and Colorado (4)). After winning the National Championship, I was the #2 candidate for the UConn job so I missed out, but I got offered a job at Wake Forest after Skip Prosser retired and I took it. At the end of my 5 years at PRST, I left them with a PG that was a preseason All-American the next year and an overall team rating of 87. What I always try to do in Legacy Mode is recruit highly rated foreign players throughout the year, since their interest in other schools stays low all year until about the last 2 weeks of the offseason signing period. If you recruit the highly rated foreign guys throughout the year, you should sign them fairly easily. With my Vikings my national championship team consisted of a PG from Mali (the guy who ended up being A-A the next year), a SG from a JuCo, a SF from Lebanon (scored 31 points in the NC against Utah), a 5-star freshman PF from California, and a C from Brazil. Right now I'm in the middle of my first year with Wake, with a team that is actually significantly worse than the team I left. My recruiting is a lot easier with my A+ charisma combined with the high exposure of a power conference, though. I sim most regular season games, and maybe play the conference tournament championships if I'm in and all NCAA tournament games.

Did you play all of your games. If so, did you use sliders or anything?
