While it has been a great year for my Wisconsin Badgers, football and basketball, their Big Ten wins haven't been incredibly satisfying. That Illinois game was just too close. I knew it'd be a big game, going to Assembly Hall and what not...but man. 3 point win over Oh. State...I liked that, as Ohio State was getting the favoring there..but only 6 point win over North-freaking-western, a 5 point win at home to Purdue, and a 7 point nailbiter against Illinois, doesn't seem great. No doubt that Wisconsin has probably the best team in the past 5 years, as they have been consistently good for those 5 years, but when you let teams like NW and Purdue keep up with you, especially with Purdue at the Kohl Center...it gets a little nervewrecking. Hopefully though, Wisconsin will get their first basketball National Championship since '41 and first National Championship in their school history since eariler last year in the "Frozen Four". Add that and a Cubs World Series win and I'll be a happy camper.

Thats just the style of Big 10 basketball. Low scoring games means the final margin is usually pretty close. I think they are as good as anybody right now.

Teams that are as good as everyone leave their own areana once in awhile and don't lose to Purdon't by 14.

He's talking about Michigan losing to Purdue 67-53.
But this topic is about Wisconsin, not Michigan.

Wisconsin is 19-1 for a reason. How can people say they are not good....

Wisconsin has some serious size along with perimeter presence with Kammron Taylor. Of course, Tucker is everywhere. They will definitely be a team to contend with during March.

I think Badgers get a one seed in March, maybe not first, but definitely one of em'.
I think the Big Ten is going to be superb in the coming years. Purdue and Michigan State have the #3 and #4 classes coming in as far as rankings go, and Wisconsin will continue to be good.
I don't see Ohio State being good for long, simply because Oden won't stay around.
And as far as a low scoring win against NW, the Wildcats play a Princeton style of offense, so it is tough to blow them out of the water and it is uncommon to score more than 70 against them....

"Princeton offense" = not enough talent to run the court

Just stop bitching.

I don't see Ohio State being good for long, simply because Oden won't stay around. Uhh.. Spartan? We have much more talent than just Oden. He might even stick around for his Sophomore season. Our recruiting class was called the "Thad Five" for a reason. Mike Conley has been lighting it up as a point guard, and Daquan Cook was our leading scorer, and he was coming off of the bench. David Lighty is a very talented, versatile player. Two of those three were five star prospects, and one a four star. Not to mention that we have one five star prospect (Kosta Koufos- A Top 15 prospect), and four four star prospects committed.

"Princeton offense" = not enough talent to run the court It's also called good coaching to know you don't have the talent and adjust accordingly.

Just stop bitching. I don't expect a NC every year...it's just since I've been watching college sports (dating back to about 7 years or so ago...this is one of the better teams I've seen. I was just a little disapointed with a few of the games. Given my favorite teams, having the right to say, hey my team is doing good, doesn't come too often. Sorry if I came off as "bitching". I'll stop now. (b'_')b

I didn't say you guys weren't going to be bad, I just didn't think there was a lot of YOUNG talent on the team. I thought it was full of juniors, seniors. My bad dude. But regardless, the Big Ten will be the dominant conference in the coming years.

I'd think the Big East and Pac 10 may have something to say about the Big Ten being the dominate conference. Big East still has some heavy hitters, and the Pac 10 is really looking like a solid league for the next few years. That's not saying the Big Eleven won't be good. Michigan State, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana all ought to have pretty good programs year in and year out. Just saying, it's not like football , the best league isn't as clear cut.

I wouldn't disagree with you on the SEC bama.
You know how much I hated that possibility of a rematch...
