Ok, I need somewhere to rant about this, this is the place.
Would someone please explain to me why Ohio State is ranked #2? "Buckeyes prep for likely No. 1 spot with easy win" - ESPN
Whoever came up with that is an idiot, they will get a #2 seed, they still have another game against Wisconsin which they most likely will lose.
Ok now I know they have only 3 losses, and those losses are to UNC, Florida and Wisconsin (Top 5 teams). My problem is they have 0 wins over top 25 teams, (they beat then ranked #20 Tennessee at OSU; Tennessee is now unranked and 18-9). Their best win is a 7 point home win over Indiana (currently 19th but will drop after losses to Purdue and Michigan this week.) They also beat #15 Southern Illinois, but only scoring 54 points vs a MVC team? (No offense to Mid-Majors but their list of wins is less impressive than OSU's).
Personally I think OSU should be ranked around 10th get a 3 seed, and honestly I don't expect to see them around for the sweet 16.
EDIT: Worst yet, tomorrow, they will be the #1 team in the nation, with 3 losses, the next three teams down from them, UF (2 losses), Wisconsin (2 losses), and UNC (3 losses). ALL THREE HAVE BEAT OSU!

I've been saying it for months: Buckeyes are overrated.

I agree that we aren't worthy of that high of a ranking.

Ask Durant if 1 player can make a team... Durant is better than Oden, but Texas is a bubble team.

Really? He's a man? I thought all this time he was a woman.
I was just saying with those two words that Oden has overrated the team far above where it should be.

You've got some high standards there, buddy. I'm no Texas fan, but a 20-win Texas team will get in (They'll get to 20 wins). And there's more to them than just Durant. D.J. Augustin might be the best point guard in the nation you've never heard of.

Im not gonna lie, Vermont got 8 points in the AP poll...
That said, I do think Ohio St. is overrated, but not that much. They certainly aren't #1, but they're a legit TOP 10 team.

The Coachs voted for Ohio State to be #1 so I guess I will stand behind that. I dont care what fans or experts say as much as I care about what the coachs have to say.
If coachs who have played, scouted and everything against this team think they deserve to be #1 that's ok with me.
I personaly beleive a few teams are better, but what do I know? Nobody knows what has happened in thos games Ohio State hasnt played well in... they could be an amzing team in transition.
As for the #1 status... let them prove worthy of it and then we talk

While I'm not questioning the coaching poll legitimacy, it seems awfully easy for coaches to vote in a way to help their team a bit... I sometimes have my suspicions, but in no way think there's some conspiracy going around...
And Bruins are my pick to end #1 before conference tourneys start. I think Wisconsin will crash and lose two of those last three games, but no doubt they should be #1...

You're missing the point that the polls don't matter in college basketball.

Wisconsin wins the Big Dance.
Mark it down now. (The chances of me being right is very low, but what the hell)

So..? hmm? What was this about us not being a top-quality team?
The fact that we are in the Elite Eight speaks for itself.
