I think Kansas is the real deal. Well, they better be for my sake.

My bracket is embarrasing. Im not going to lie to anybody, I only got 8 sweet 16ers.
Like I said, embarrasing.
Funny thing is, though, is that a pool i'm in with a total of 6 people, 90$ pot, I'm the only one who picked Florida. If the Gators win and I get 3 or 4 FF teams, I could still win.

Kansas looked pretty dominate and have emerged as a final four team so I too am glad i picked tehm to win it all. Besides I need someone to root for since Maryland and VCU went down. But another team im rootin for is my Southern Cal Trojans. I've been a fan of that school since I was a lil kid and grew up not far from the campus but knew nothing about their b-ball team. Now I know they're not just a football school lol. They beat Texas convincingly and I firmly believe they can beat Carolina.

If they beat Carolina I will be so happy. I still can't explain why I picked USC over them.

I'm just hoping UCLA catches the Jayhawks on an off night. They are very good, but again I think the combo of San Jose and UCLA being able to force a very slow pace will force the boys from KU off their game. I would not be surprised at all if Kansas goes in and wins the NC either, but I'm just hopeful that UCLA (or UF) will clip them.

This probably isn't a surprise coming from me, but I'm not too impressed with KU's win today. They shot 57% to Kentucky's 41% and won by only twelve? If KU shoots just 50%, they lose this game.
My take.

I was just doing scenarios and I need to root for UCLA and Ohio St. big time. If I get those guys and Florida wins, I can overcome my worst bracket ever and manage to come out 75$ up.

After getting a chance to digest the weekend's slate, here's my thoughts:
-Michigan State played a great game. As well as could be expected. I didn't have them winning, so I'm not really disappointed, but I'm glad they played well and we should be interesting last year.
-Wisconsin is an embarrassment to the Big Ten. Ohio State was almost the same thing. Our best teams just suck.
-Winthrop did exactly what I expected - beat ND, then get outshot by Oregon.
-Memphis is better than I thought they were and I'm not sure A&M (who has struggled in their first two games) will beat them.
-Texas is overrated. You forget they don't have much other than Durant.
-Florida may not be as invincible as we all thought they were.

Actually Ohio State is extremely dangerous right now because we already got our "We were supposed to lose" game out of the way.

Texas has some good players. They're just young, and don't play defense. Rick Barnes isn't that great of a coach, he's just an overachiever when it comes to recruiting.

Florida is too cocky if you ask me. I liked them last year at this time but now I can't stand them.

Just seeing Joakim Noah play makes me hate Florida ALOT although I like Al Horford's potential.

Actually they are officially called the University of Kansas on their website. So it's UK.

Ohio State is the worst of the four one seeds I've seen. That's not to say they won't get their act together, but they are in for a tough game against the Vols.
Kansas looked impressive, a little too impressive. I'm kind of sad I didn't have them winning.
Moving on, Saturday may have been the best day of basketball I have seen in a long time. Vanderbilt/Wazzu was amazing, and VCU almost made one of the more improable comebacks I've ever seen. Xavier had OSU beat but let that game slip through their fingers. The best game of the day for me was that Louisville/Texas A&M game. Louisville was the strongest six seed I've seen in the dance and A&M was able to beat them in Kentucky. It gave me confedence in the Aggies more so than it hurt it.
The first round was slow, but I enjoyed the second round a lot more than I normally do. I can't wait till Thursday's games.
