why's it so grainy?

I was having trouble with Macromedia Fireworks...I wanted to save some things as GIF but it always wanted me to save them as PNG. I found a way to save things as GIF, but it seems as though the quality is a little dampered. I also think I may have done something to the picture now after looking at it more closely.
I think I will mess with banners this weekend to fix the problem. I have only made a few, so I am still learning how to make them. Just like my NFL site, they will keep getting better.

 Here's another one I just made, I like to leave a little around the players and blur it, it makes them stand out. I guess that is just part of my style. |

Here you go, it has Winslow, Garcia, and Northcutt. I couldn't find a very good picture of Winslow, he hasn't played much because of that injury.  Hope you like it. |

If possible I wouldn't mind a texans banner, with Carr on the left, Andre on the right and in whatever style people think is good.
