I've been noticing an increase in the amount of people who take digital pictures on the site, and some of them are good quality, where the others are struggling. The key to making your pictures clear is resizing them to be smaller. Take this for example... Original : img.photobucket.com/albums/v625/LjSnUo/4CC/JeffsGamepics020.jpgWith my resizing of it: i19.photobucket.com/albums/b170/stewaat32/JeffsGamepics020.pngHere's how I get my pictures clear: 1 - Take the pic 2 - Upload the pic to my PC 3 - Import the pic into Fireworks (similar to Photoshop) 4 - Resize the pic from a large size (1000px x 800 px) to a smaller size (200 px x 150 px) 5 - Upload the pic to an on-line image hoster (ie Photobucket) 6 - Enjoy viewing clear pics which people will envy you for Hope this helps some people out there

Yeah but I don't have fireworks, could I upload the pic to photobucket and resize it there?

All you really have to do is when you put the image code in just specify a height and width. Just make sure it is a ratio of the original.

Ok I got a couple more tips...
1. Don't use the first pic you take. What I mean is dont just take a pic and be done. Mess around with it. Take a couple pics to find the setting you like the best. My camera's best settting is --- No Flash, Detailer-ON, and AUTO=on, slight zoom ---I think it might be helpful if some others would give their best settings on their cams for taking game pics. Wink Wink Stew.
2. Do NOT zoom in all the way. I find that if I do this, it blurs up images. Slight zoom is good, but too much = bad.
I'll think of more and edit this.

If I knew bibbster, i'd tell you. I know I just put it on the highest quality pics that I can. At the top of my camera screen there are 3 stars.
My pics come out 2000x1500 when they are transferred to my PC. But then I give them the old resizing down to 180x125 and it works out good for me.

No I'm not talking about like the size or anything... I'm talking about the like setting in which you have it on. At least on my cam theres a manual scroll thing on the top that goes through about 14 settings like: Landscape, Potrait, Auto, Night, Day, Sunny, crap like this.... But yeah, the 2000x1500 pics are the BEST tip. I have my cam set on that size and set it to "superfine" quality. After that, the resizing makes em look GREAT.
Thanks Stew, again.

People didn't know that already? I've been doing that for 3 years with pictures I've taken with my digital camera, then had hosted on a site.
I thought it was common sense...
I guess I'll offer one more tip, once you have it resized, don't be afraid to SHARPEN or SOFTEN the image, it sometimes helps.

Just wondering. What kind of TV do you use to play your games. Do you have like a regular TV or do you have like Plasma or HD.

When you take a picture, you can set the camera to what size you want? I can't figure that out on my camera.

I have a crappy camera (no LCD screen, no zoom, eats up batteries like nothing), so I have to touch mine up a little in Paint Shop Pro before I upload them. I'll have to lighten the picture so you can actually what's on the TV screen (the flash doesn't work well for me) and crop it, since I won't have the whole TV on my pic. Since I don't have the ability to see how the pic turned out on an LCD screen, I'll take each picture twice to increase my chances of getting a decent picture.

OK using Stewaat's tips I tried to see how clear I could get a pic. What do you guys think of this one? I know it is a little bad on the right side because I didn't crop it, but I was just fooling around with it. Anyway just wanted your opinions.
