people learn photoshop
I have the program(downloaded it) but have tried and cant do anything. Did u graphic makers follow a tutorial at first or anything?
In other words, how did u learn Photoshop?

I go around and look at the tutorials. Try different effects, and just play around with it. Than, people will give you tips once you start. It just takes practice.

Tutorials definitely help. If you just go on google video and type in "photoshop tutorial" it helps a lot. You can also just search the same thing on regular google, and it guides you through step-by-step in that too, although sometimes people don't include pictures to see if you got the same thing they have (in other words just the final picture is what they show) and you can't figure out why it turns out like that.
But it takes a lot of time and testing to learn what most of the effects do. I don't have any of them memorized to be honest except for real basic stuff, so it's pretty much new to me every time I try. But if you just invest a bit of time into it every once in a while, you start to get happy with your results...

Practice, and lots of it.
You have to have a sense for art, I think.
