After you kinda learn the ropes and how things work in photoshop you can venture out and just mess around till something looks good. I used to follow tutorials but now I don't anymore. Basically I find a couple of stock images and blend them together to make a cool background. Then I add the render (player) and duplicate that layer about 3 times and mess with the blending options to get something looking good. Then I add text and blend it in. There are a ton of things you can do in photoshop and the only way to learn is through tutorials so I suggest you follow some of the tutorials on that site for a while, but don't copy them. Use your own background images or renders and use the tutorial's techniques.

I can't get to the three requests tonight, I've got an AP Calculus test tomorrow and then tommorrow night I've got a research paper I have to finish. So I'll make the first one probably thursday night and the next two this weekend.

both, i usually get them from the psd section of psdcentral or you can google search "sport psds" and about 5 good sites come up with cuts.

pen tool all the way around and then you can delete the outside. I don't do it often, but there is a tutorial on the pen tool at PSD central.com
