Yea, it's horrible, but it's better than the 49ers or the Raiders.

Jami said that the Packers defense is better than ours. While I beleive we are slightly getting overrated, we are going to be better than the Pack defensive unit. Unfortunatly, their offense will beat us out this year

The Packers' defense was at least better than Minnesota's last year. This year, I don't think there's a doubt that the Vikings' will be better this year. However, I don't think the Vikings defense will go from bottom of the barrel to cream of the crop in one season just because they signed a couple big name free agents (Pat Williams and Fred Smoot) and an overrated safety (Darren Sharper).

Jami -
I never said we would be cream of the crop, I even said that we are getting a bit overrated, I just don't think that we will be worse than the Packers this year as you said earlier. Also just to point out we added more than just those three.
FS Darren Sharper DT Pat Williams CB Fred Smoot LB Sam Cowart DE Erasmus James LB Napolean Harris
Those are just the defensive starters we added, and all of them are an upgrade over what we had starting at that position last year.

Keep in mind that the game isn't released until August, so there's plenty of time for them to do adjusting if it's needed. *AHEMpackersdefenseAHEM* Come on..we know they're bad, but they're better than the Vikings defensively. I don't think the additions of Darren Sharper, Fred Smoot, and Pat Williams will cause the Vikings to have a 92-rated defense. That's completely out of whack. Are you blind?

I know you didn't say they'd be the cream of the crop, but a 92 defensive rating in Madden seems to suggest that EA thinks they will be. I'll agree that the Queens added some big names on defense, but how well they play together will determine how well they play. As for Raz James, there's a good chance he'll get bitten by the injury bug, just like another Badger you have on your team (Michael Bennett). As for what I said earlier, I probably should have specified the "last year" thing. I'm not blind or retarded, just too lazy to edit posts or to express my thoughts into coherent sentences.

Mike, are you retarded? The Pats are only the greatest team of the young century, and it's not like they lost any players. Sure, they lost Weis and Crenell, but did they pick off the bad passes, did they throw the touchdowns, did they block the defensive linemen, did they run for over 1000 yards? No, so shut up and go back to getting laughed at on the IGN boards.

No [cuss] it's their best CB, but one player isn't going to effect a team like the Patriots so much they won't make the playoffs.

your right i just looked at the cupcake division they are in Last year it wasn't too bad really with the Jets making it to the divisional round and almost knocking off the Steelers and the Bills were almost in themselves. The Pats owned those guys and will probably own every one again this year. Though I'm not sold on another Super Bowl losing those two coaches I still think we're looking at a wild-card team at the very very least.

MISS THE PLAYOFFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!My brothers 12 year old football team (they are real bad) could make the playoffs with Tom Brady at the helm. That guy is so good at making players believe in there abilities (or the abilities they dont have). So theres no way they dont make the playoffs.

Didn't the Pats miss the playoffs the year after they beat the Rams? Yeah, thought so. Nothing's certain, not even the Pats making the playoffs, especially considering how tough the AFC is getting. Their season is basically depending on how well the defense plays without Bruschi and Law...you can only win so many games with Gay and Moreland at CB. I'm not saying the Pats won't make the playoffs, since they probably will considering they still play the Dolphins and Bills (inexperienced Losman at QB) twice a year...that's like 4 automatic wins. But at the same time, there are a lot of teams in the AFC that are on the rise and could keep the Pats out of the playoffs if they don't win the East: Pittsburgh, Indy, and San Diego are probably your other division winners (providing Brees plays well in SD), with teams like the Jets, Jacksonville, Oakland, and Denver starting to make pushes for the playoffs.

Well, New England found a way to lose against Miami last year, so I doubt that will be automatic.
