T.O.
His mouth has nothing to do with his tremendous amount of talent he has.
Ass handed to us? Hardly. A very intense/exicting game, yes.

Were talking about this season, MATE.
Why do we have to go back 5 years...If thats the case then Peyton is NOT the best player in the NFL...Tom Brady would be and really he is along with Smith.

...remember, he broke his leg last season, so he's only done four.
Right now, he's surpassing all of them just by playing. You don't hear anything about him speaking up or talking wild to the media, he just plays. Reminds me of a young Jerry Rice (before Dancing With the Stars and Kenny Mayne)

We have to go back 5 years cause thats how long Smith has been in the nfl, take a year off for his injury last season those 3 guys would still own him. And if you are basing your opinion that he is the best player in the NFL based off ONE whole year...then thats pretty sad. One year doesnt judge weather a player is the best in an entire league. So the players that have one year wonders and drop off the entire rest of there career, are they called the best of the league? No cause they didnt do it for a consistent basis. And sure Smith has put up good numbers in his four years of healthy play but Owens, Moss, and Johnson have put up better. So how is he better then them?

Great stats sep, though you fail to mention Smith was a rookie and started one game in 2001, as well as the fact he played half a game last year. Then theres the fact that the Panthers have always been a run first team, which you are also oblivious to.
Bottom line, he got the triple crown this year (first since Sharpe), and that was with EVERY team knowing he was going to get the ball, doubling him, and still getting burned.
Best receiver in the NFL. Easy.
And Gary, that crappy D looked like a bunch of middle schoolers in awe of Smiths greatness. I mean they fell to their knees as he ran by!

And Smith has only been a starting receiver for the past 3 seasons (2 if you discount last year, when he only played in the first half of the first game before Green Bay snapped his leg into like three parts), so it's not exactly fair to go back as far as 5 seasons. This season, Smith has been the best wide receiver in football. THIS SEASON, there's no real argument for best WR. Chad Johnson comes close, but even he was completely shut down in a few games this season.

David: You're a complete moron. Enjoy getting raped by Seattle.
I already admitted our defense didn't show when it needed to, stop being a complete ass, spare yourself some face, eh?
As I recall, Panthers defense wasn't that great either. But you won, the best team won, and the Panthers deserved it. Congrats, but the win doesn't warrent you to be an ass.

Best receiver in the NFL. Easy. First you bring up the run first team. Philadelphia; Brian Westbrook, Donovan anyone? They never ran did they. Cincinatti; Rudi Johnson anybody? Then the fact that everyone knew the ball was going to him.. Moss in Oakland? Everyone knew that ball was going to Joey Porter of course. Then while he was in Minnesota after Chris Carter retired. Ya im sure everyone knew where that ball was going. Not to Moss of course.

Moss barely played at all this season, partly because of a bum hamstring, and partly because Norv Turner is an absolutely horrible coach that basically froze him out of the offense. Rudi Johnson is a good back, but the Bengals were by no means a running team this year, and the Eagles were throwing the ball 70% of the time (literally) when they had T.O.
I would say that Smith is the best receiver in that he continued to get double digit receptions despite being in double and triple coverage, and he's just as big of a threat as a runner on screens and end arounds. If he's not the best WR in the NFL this season, then he's definitely the most dangerous.
