Ben Rothlisberger(sp?) got in a motorcycle accident and is in pretty bad condition. He wassnt wearing a helmet and his head smacked against a car windshield. Athletes + Motorcycles = Not Good sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2480830 |

I wouldn't go that far. Very serious head injuries and I wouldn't blame him for hanging it up, but Roethlisberger's the type of guy who will do everything possible to return.
But I wouldn't be shocked to see him hang it up, but if Carson Palmer can rip his leg to shreds and come back....we'll see.

They have a scholarship for him at Geneva High School for 5,000 dollars to go to a tech school because of the accident in commemoration of him. All I have to say, if your entire life is based on what your body can do (i.e. any athlete), you need to treat that thing like a temple. That is where everything starts and ends with. Half of these guys (Big Ben included if memory serves) don't have college degrees. Big Ben, and all athletes owe everything to their body, and to be so reckless with it shows an absolute disregard for the work you've down, and the work all the other's around you have done.
Accidents happen. Shitty things happen to people who don't deserve it every single day. You can do everything possible to avoid injury and trouble, but it still comes; but to tempt it and say, "it can't happen to me," is idiotic and stupid. Sometimes things won't catch up to some people, but in this case, it did.
