Yeah, got to love bandwagon fans. We had some at the Ravens playoff game who came into the game saying yeah, we're the best team in the NFL. Then, we lose a close game to the Colts and the same fans are shouting "Ravens suck, and all this other stuff".
Last year was most annoying though, I couldnt stand all those bandwagon Steelers fans around here. Makes me that much more happy that we kicked thier ass...twice.
Anyway, im going to pull for Chicago. I hate Indianapolis and really dont want to hear about Peyton and Adam Vinatieri for another 6 months. Plus, I gotta pull for Rex Grossman even though ill be the first to admit ive been hard on him all year.
Im just afraid that kind of pressure with Freeney/Mathis could force Rex to make bad decisions. Chicago has to come out with the run early to keep their defensive line balanced and keep Rex confident. The start of this game for the Bears is almost as important as the ending. You do not want to fall behind early and put everything on Rex's back.

I don't know what everyone is complaining about. I've seen a lot of people picking the Bears and giving them a lot of edges just as much as I've seen Colts stuff. I think it is just made to be more of a big deal that the Colts get picked. I feel like if the Bears win it's almost kind of lost. If the Bears win it's not a great quarterback finally getting over that horrible hump, a team named the Patriots winning the Super Bowl after the events of September 11th and then establishing themselves as a dynasty with two more wins, Jerome Bettis and Bill Cowher finally tasting that gold, after all Ray Lewis had been through he and the Ravens win the Super Bowl but a nice margin over my Giants (*sigh*), John Elway finally getting his, Steve Young overcoming the Cowboys and winning his first ring, and many many before. It's not a great story like many of those were, it's simply a good team winning a championship. In my opinion should be and always has been a storied game and that's what makes me feel like the Colts will win. The Bears will have their chance again I'm sure (as much as I hate to admit it) but this year it only makes sense in context with past Super Bowls for the Indianapolis Colts to come out on top this year. It's Manning and the Colts in XLI.

I found this funny. Bama, how do you find all of these pictures? I mean, the South Park SEC coaches was a gem, but this is pure gold.

You have to realize that I could really not care any less who wins the Super Bowl. I just saw it, and found it quite funny. It's not a knock at the Payton love, because hell I don't watch ESPN unless there is college basketball on and really don't pay much attention to any other sports stories. I just thought it was funny, not a knock at his attention, just a humorous picture.
Oh and Sportsbuck, I just randomly run into them. This one I found in a guy's sig at Maddenmania. The guy who has it, almost always has something amazing in his sig.

The Superbowl is about 2 teams fighting for the honor of being called the best, it's never been about which team's story would end best winning the Superbowl.

I really don't care who wins it, I just want it to be a good game like the Patroits and Panthers game. I think Rex Grossman is going to come out of nowehere and have a pretty big game and lead the Bears to the win, though.
Bears 23 Colts 21
Grossman - 15/33 245 yds 2 td Manning - 20/29 209 yds 3 td

I think my Bears will pull it out in the end on a Robbie Gould field goal.
Bears - 26 Colts - 24

I would like to take this time to announce that I am boycotting the Superbowl. I will not watch any SB-related coverage, no Sportscenter for a week, nor will I look at ESPN.com. I will only watch the top-rated SB commercial (as on the USA Today website,) and I will only check Yahoo! Sports for the final score. I will also not visit the NFL section of DC for the next week. Oh, and I'm not watching the game itself.

If he says anything against its commercialism and the marketing of the NFL, I believe we are allowed to punch him...

I believe so, considering pretty much nobody else is going to join his list and one person not watching isn't gonna make the execs rethink the issue.
Give it up, man.

I'm against its commercialism and the marketing of the NFL.
Kidding. Why would I be against the commercialism of the event if every sport is like that?
I'm against the overhyping of the event, considering that it's the only thing anyone has talked about for the past, what, month? I am still a fan of the NFL, but seriously, this is rediculous. There are other things going on, people!
EDIT: Actually, I am starting to think that I am doing this just to see what else is on that night.

It's not the Super Bowl's fault. Blame the media.

There are other things going on, people! Well, College Football is over. The NBA is gay. College Basketball is just hitting it's swing. And baseball doesn't start for another month. So what else would we talk about for the next month?

The NFL has the two week layoff on purpose. They use the excuse that it gives teams more time to prepare, but they just happen to have the media milk this thing out the whole time. I somewhat joined in on USMA's boycott in that whenever something Super Bowl Preview related came on, I just changed the channel. I don't need the countless hours of coverage, thank you. But the typical football fan is too blind to realize that their just depriving them of the biggest game to increase anticipation. It's just brilliant marketing tactics...
